One of these can be called MMA drama "Fire Coming Out" (Enter the Fire) directed by Phil Horn, which may be a familiar family movie "Gibby" (2016) and a western "Branded" (2017)

The film tells the story of former underground fighter Jake Bolt, who returns to his hometown and learns that his adopted brother is in debt to the mafia. Now both brothers will have to either repay the debt or “work off” it, first in legal and then in illegal battles.

Played the leading role Ian Lauer (“Self-Confident”), and plays the main villain in the film Lou Ferrigno ("Cage 2", "Instant Death"). The rest of the cast is filled by: Teresa Navarro ("The Eighth Sense") Christopher Showerman (TV series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."), Chandler Maness (“Branded”) and other actors.

The film is already available for viewing on Amazon, but the release date is still unknown.

The next project has a larger budget, as well as “brighter” names in the cast. We are talking about a boxing drama called "Tiger" (Tiger).

The film is directed by an Australian Alistair Grierson, who worked on such films as war drama "Kokonda" (2006) and an adventure thriller "Sanctum" (2010), as well as TV series "Dr. Blake" и "Lost".

This film is the true story of a Sikh boxer who was disqualified by the commission for refusing to renounce his religious beliefs. Through racial prejudice and stereotypical threats, he does what every strong American does: fight. As a result, his future now depends on the results of his two biggest battles: one in the ring, the other for his rights in the courtroom.

The main on-screen duet in the drama was embodied Prem Singh ("Attack play") and Mickey Rourke ("Wrestler"), and they are accompanied by: Jannel Parrish (TV series "Rush Hour"), Michael "Mick" Harrity ("In search of truth"), Marshall Manesh (“Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”) and other actors.

"Tiger" was completed back in 2016, but problems arose with post-production and its release was shelved. However, in the end, the film went to theaters November 2 2018 years. We invite you to watch the trailer.

We would like to finish today’s selection with an unexpected representative of sports dramas from Japan. We're talking about a movie called "Chrysanthemum and Guillotine" (The Chrysanthemum And The Guillotine).

Japanese cinema, in addition to samurai epics, comic book adaptations and social dramas, sometimes delights with simple but interesting stories in our and near-our interest. These were the pictures "Uzumasa Footlights" и "War Song", as well as some good wrestling dramas "My Dad is a Villain Wrestler" и "Ringside Story".

This seems to be what happened with the new film of a proven filmmaker. Takahisa Zeze, who managed to work with different genres, including erotic and love dramas, with which he gained popularity. But our brother Takahisa may be familiar with a decent vampire thriller "Child of the Moon" starring Hideto Takarai, Kamui Gackt and Wang Leehom.

The theme of "Chrysanthemums" is women's sumo fighting in the setting of 1932, when the Great Kanto earthquake struck Japan. At that time, society was dominated by social depression, economic decline and the growth of militarism. The focus is on a dedicated group of sumo girls who do not want to stop doing what they love even in the face of fear of ideological war.

The leading roles in the drama were played by an aspiring actress Mai Kiryu ("Lies of the Suzuki Family") and Masahiro Higashide ("Acceleration", Punk Samurai Strike) Other roles include: Hanae Kan ("Love and other cults"), Masatoshi Nagase ("Hidden blade"), Shun Sugata (the Kill Bill duology) and other actors.

The film triumphantly went through various film festivals, becoming one of the main favorites at the 31st Tokyo International Festival, as well as at the Busan Film Festival. Alas, we are not yet pleased with the premiere date. But, obviously, we won’t be able to watch the film until mid-2019.
