Review of the film "60 minutes" (Sixty Minutes) from KFK

Divorces and child custody battles are never a pleasant experience for any of the parties involved, but imagine if it turned into a real race against time, and a battle where every gangster in the city is trying to drag you in the opposite direction!

German action movie"sixty minutes" (Sixty Minutes) takes both ideas to their climax in a moving story about a young man torn between the roles of a fighter and a father.

Cast

Emilio Sacraia plays MMA fighter Octavio Bergman, and plays the role of his beloved daughter, Leonie Morik Haydo.

Octavio's ex-wife Mina is played by Livia Matthes; his MMA coach - Marie Murum. The role of the main character's business partner went to Dennis Moen.

Also starring in the film: Bruce Willow, Eniko Fulop, Aristo Louisand Paul Wollin.

Plot

Octavio Bergman finds himself at a crossroads between his burgeoning MMA career and his strained relationship with his ex-wife Mina. In addition, he is embroiled in a custody battle over their young daughter Leonie.

As Octavio prepares for his championship fight, Mina issues an ultimatum: he has one hour to get to his daughter's birthday, or he can say goodbye to the right to date her after the divorce.

Despite the chance for a championship belt and a big payday, Leoni means too much to Octavio for him to ever sacrifice her. This causes him to suddenly leave the fight and go to Mina's house before the time limit runs out.

Unfortunately, one criminal syndicate has bet a lot of money on Octavio's victory in battle, and is not going to give up their investment so that he can get to his daughter on time. This leads to a series of parkour chases and fights with pursuers on the streets of Berlin.

Action

"Sixty Minutes" tells the touching story of a father and daughter

As fast-paced and gritty as Sixty Minutes is, it tells a truly tender story of a father and daughter set against the backdrop of a terrible divorce.

Octavio is far from an irresponsible father and genuinely cares about his daughter, but his focus on developing a career in mixed martial arts has turned him into something of a workaholic.

These 60 minutes make him reflect on how much he has missed out on his family life due to his busyness, although Octavio believes that due to the difficult circumstances of the divorce, he cannot change anything.

The film does not show him as a father who has forgotten about his daughter who receives the retribution he deserves, but simply as a young father who, in the most difficult circumstances, again realizes how important his daughter is to him.

In the context of Sixty Minutes, this can only mean the most intense and action-packed circumstances.

Parkour chases? Yes please!

Although Sixty Minutes relies primarily on flashy MMA fights, the film's plot also allows for plenty of parkour chases. They're not as varied in terms of locations, but Octavio does his job with great flair, combining parkour with action scenes.

In retrospect, it's surprising how few attempts have been made to combine parkour and MMA before, and Octavio's combination of kicks, takedowns and parkour jumps suggests that this is set to become more common.

Sixty Minutes features many exciting action scenes!

Aside from the parkour chases, the action scenes in the film are also top-notch and fantastic considering the fast pace they exhibit.

Although the film's plot, unfortunately, cannot offer viewers real MMA fights in a cage, fans of action will still enjoy such bright moments as the fight between the main character and a gang pursuing him in a dark alley.

In addition to this, the audience will be treated to real courage in the form of MMA without restrictions in Octavio’s gym, where he and his friends are causing a real commotion. This scene is one of the most striking in the film.

Extended Nightclub Brawl

Perhaps the most challenging action scene comes in the form of Octavio's lengthy nightclub brawl with a menacing henchman. This is undoubtedly the best one-on-one fight in this action movie. But it does highlight a small flaw: this is the film's high point of action, both in terms of fight choreography and the skill of any of Octavio's opponents. Further, it is never possible to create a battle scene of this level again.

However, the compromise the film makes in this regard is to add more emotional weight to Octavio's desperate race. It directly touches the viewer's emotions, whether they are parents or not.

Сonclusion

While the third act lacks a bit of punch in the action department, "Sixty Minutes" offers plenty of fun martial arts and parkour moments, as well as a touching story of a father-daughter reunion.

Moreover, the Emilio Sacraia combines a sweet screen presence with flamboyant, powerful martial arts abilities, and his first real lead role in an action movie (someone please make a fight scene featuring Emilio and Mike Moeller!)

"Sixty Minutes" presents its plot and action as tight and concentrated as any car chase movie. And the end result is a truly wild 5K marathon with plenty of parkour and fights along the way!
