Brick Mansions release date announced

February 6th company "Relativity Media" announced that the action thriller directed by debutant Camille Delamara "Brick Mansions", with a tragic death in a car accident Paul Walker starring, will be released in US cinemas on April 25, 2014.

Christophe Lambert (one of the producers of “Brick Mansions”):

...In our film, Paul has a key role - his character is at the center of the plot. He got about 80% of the screen time. I have no doubt that Brick Mansions will be one of the biggest films Walker has made in recent memory, and he gave it his all...

Company "Relativity Media" и "Europa Corp" intend to transfer donations to a charitable foundation Walker "Reach Out WorldWide", including proceeds from the film's world premiere.

I haven't moved away from Tom Yang Gung with RZA yet, and here it is on you))))

American bottom. Judging by the trailer, it’s better to watch the original again

mansion is both a mansion and an apartment building. For RZA, the combination thug mansion is probably closer. By the premiere, the localizers will probably mix up their version.

Doesn't anyone care about "S" anymore?.. :) I feel like it will be like with the translation of the name "Coweb" with the girl "Lyusya" and Kosugi Jr.

it looks like he will lose his sister - there is no place for her in the new version,

Lola is played by Catalina Denis.

    "Brick Mansion"

"Brick Mansions" is the name of the GHETTO where the events take place. There are many brick high-rise buildings, not mansions.

    One of Walker's last interviews.
GQ: You are currently working on a new project: “Brick Mansion”. The role in which you are mentioned contains a lot of parkour. How are you doing on the set?
PW: Before filming, I trained with David Bell (13th district), that is, he trained me. Oh God, he’s just the father of parkour! We trained so much that I also became part of the “monkeys.” I’m a pretty flexible guy, because I've been doing martial arts since I was 13, I wanted to do parkour
I would like to practice, but only earlier: this sport is for young people. When David showed me some tricks, I answered: “Damn, I’m too old for this.” David is already 40 and you can’t tell it from him. For him, parkour is everything. Damn. He's just crazy!
GQ: Did you have your own personal gym?
PU: Yes, he is in Canada. We trained there almost every day. When filming began, we were not very busy. So to speak: we started with the easiest thing. But then it started. I came home from work and immediately went to bed. They made us into "Spider-Man". The only difficulty is that there is no safety. The basis of parkour is risk. This is probably what this sport consists of.
GQ: Do you like to take risks?
PU: Oh, yes! It seems to me that if you don’t take risks, life will be boring. And a boring life is not for me. But in fact, the most extreme sport for me is surfing. Of course, there was a time when I almost drowned .But I am grateful to God for saving my life. I can breathe again!
    It's a shame he won't see the film's premiere.

The British tabloid Daily Mail made a short report from the scene, revealing new details.
Work began in French-speaking Montreal (Canada), although it was originally intended to make a completely Americanized version of the film; therefore, the choice of geography may have been due to a reworking of the concept, now aimed at combining European and American cultures.

Paul Walker's participation in the project has been confirmed - he will play an undercover police officer, Damien - the name of his character remains unchanged. But the skin color of several others changed. In particular, the character “K2”, one of the main criminals, will be played by a Canadian of Nigerian origin, Gucci Boy. And the only female role in the film will be played by the still unknown black actress Aisha Issa. The changes also affected the script, apparently due to the participation of the “Fast and Furious” “star” in the film. Contrary to the original story, the characters will switch places - the plot will revolve around Damien, and Lino will get a rather secondary role, and it seems that he will lose his sister - there is no place for her in the new version, and who Aisha Issa will play is still unknown.

Judging by the trailers, they decided to film everything as a carbon copy. Okay, let's see.
Oh, RZA has a pretentious face)) He takes himself too seriously.

It’s quite possible about the population, but the Bollywood people themselves (those who make films in India), I’m sure, watch Hollywood movies regularly (at least the main box office hits). If they say otherwise, they are most likely being dark =)

Everything is correct here. It is from the main producers that all plagiarism comes. Starting from directors, scriptwriters, composers and, of course, fight and stunt directors.

As for the Hindus, I am in close contact with all this Bollywood brethren.
They almost never watch European films, American films whenever possible, and even then this possibility is reduced to a minimum.

Really? The Indians borrow SOOOOOOO much from American cinema. It’s strange... not to love it, but at the same time constantly watch and draw ideas from there. =)

By the way, I remember an interesting feature when the Japanese mixed an American-Italian western, some European noir and Hong Kong action films with Bruce Lee, sent this mixture into deep space and created the anime Cowboy Bebop, and after some time Whedon (director of the Avengers) was inspired Cowboy and directed (already in America) the series Firefly. The circulation of ideas in nature. =)

It's definitely said about the cycle. This is exactly how everything happens in life.

A huge part of the population will prefer a film with Arnie or Sly to the same remake, just say, with Sunny Deol or Salman Khan. And Akshay Kumar generally replaces Jackie, Bruce Lee, Donny, Tony Jaa and all the famous movie fighters. In addition, their films also have songs. So overall this thing is going with a bang.

When TITANIC came out, Indians leaving the cinema said - What kind of film!? Just pure water! There is water all around. And they don’t even sing. Ha Ha Ha!
The same SHOLAY (1975) - a remake of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, in which a lot of other things were torn off, Indians watch to this day. And just say this word, they will almost bow at your feet and you will be theirs, as they say on the board.

I understand Indians that they don’t like “foreign” cinema

I liked the last trailer. Belle has something interesting in store in her pursuit. Sure.
And it looks a lot. It’s a pity that you involuntarily begin to compare with the first film and remember how it was there, looking for something new... but in principle and in essence I LIKED it.
I just don’t understand one thing - why do a remake?
I understand Indians that they don’t like “foreign” movies, but for the French themselves to do a remake (of course, together with America, but still) is NOT WHAT!!!

Someone wrote that Walker would look somewhere on the level of Statham in “Carrier.” It seemed to me (from the trailer) that it was much weaker, but Belle, judging from the excerpts, is in excellent shape. And the plot somehow got too messed up

Basically, a mix of the first part of the original with the second part, only Refaeli was replaced with Walker. It looks okay, but compared to the very first part, “Wow” no longer comes to mind. The only thing I really liked was that Belle looks normal, in the 13th district 2 and in Malavita he looked terrible. The poster sucks.

About the police story. My personal opinion is this: there is only one well-choreographed fight in the entire film and it is the best in the film. This is Jackie versus a fighter in a cage. And so the film consists entirely of long dialogues, there is very little action itself... maybe someone liked it, of course. But I still respect Jackie. In this film he shows excellent MMA technique. And he still moves quite well for his age)

Such a modest teaser. Quite short and neutral.

    Author's gravatar

What do you think of the teaser?

According to the teaser, nothing special. Shooting, jumping, average racing. All this has already been seen. No unique presentation, no special delight. At least in one frame...
Belle has aged a little. The sparkle in his eyes disappeared. Or was it just me?

But the poster for the film is GORGEOUS!!! An original and interesting idea!

Have any of the experts already watched POLICE STORY 2013? What are your opinions?

Relay protection on the poster, cool. If he plays a regular talkative nigga, it's okay.

The poster reminded me of "The Raid", but overall not bad.

Now on topic. Again, I don’t expect this film to be able to compete with the level of District 13, but I will definitely watch the film as a tribute to Paul Walker. Of course, I wasn’t a fan of his, but he was a good actor and his films were great.

    Author's gravatar

The fighter from RZA is still the same, of course, but in my opinion, Honor of the Dragon 2 even without him there was a lot of frustration. When I watched this film, I certainly didn’t expect something on the level of Ong Bak or the first part... but to make such a mess, I apologize! All wires and cheap special effects and no acting or fight choreography. It would be better if they didn’t film it at all!

    TIMMONS:
"Especially when he said, 'I've been doing this all my life,' and started fisting, it looked ridiculous."

    - Is it true? Well, he's a frame!

In general, my girlfriend and I laughed at his “dashes” in the frame. This is necessary! A great comedy cries for it. Martin Lawrence is simply relaxing.

    Author's gravatar

Hahaha, good thing he's not in a Ninja suit. And I don’t care about his achievements in turnips. If he is a fan of BI, let him give money for films on this topic and stay behind the scenes. The fact that he's a clumsy screen fighter ruins the movies. Just like what happened with Dragon's Honor 2. Especially when he said "I've been doing this all my life" and started fisting, it looked ridiculous.

    Author's gravatar

Was anyone confused by the fact that RZA was wearing a bulletproof vest? I.M. Special Forces?

    Author's gravatar

We must not forget who Riza really is, one of the best producers in the USA, a hip-hop artist, co-founder of Wu Teng, he made a career, fame and money from rap, and for this you should respect him, and his attraction to BI can be seen as hobby, let him be present in all these films, his right, with his position, I think there is no reason to deny himself this. The final battle in TYAG2 - yes, I think his participation in it was unnecessary, but on the whole it did not interfere with the film and the “slug” turned out to be convincing. Personally, I welcome his presence in action films, but only as an actor.

    Author's gravatar

Why are you so attached to Riza? Well, the dude loves kung fu, his right. I love it too, but if I suddenly star in an action movie, it will be a much more pitiful sight. And for the most intolerant, there is a cross in the upper right corner of the player window.

I'll never forget his fight with Tony Jaa in Honor of the Dragon 2. Why didn't they cast Michael Jai White to play him? I couldn’t even watch Iron Fist with it on rewind. I hope at least there is no fight here, much less parkour with him.

To put it mildly, I can’t stand this…. this,...... this person.

Come on guys, RZA is a normal dude and “The Man with the Iron Fists” also turned out well, in the best traditions of Wu-Tang. He simply loves martial arts and everything related to them, and he fights at the level of Keanu Reeves.
