Is Mirror's Edge being adapted into a TV series?

It's been eight years since the computer game Mirror's Edge entered the gaming market, winning the hearts of numerous players around the world with an interesting world, game mechanics, as well as tricking, parkour, freerunning and combat scenes.

And while fans of the game are waiting for the new part Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, there was information that this game is from Electronic Arts may receive a film or series adaptation. Moreover, film makers from Endemol Shine Studios.

The news agency Deadline cites the words of the president of Endemol Shine Studios as proof of this rumor Sharon Hall:

We clearly see Mirror's Edge as a franchise for global television audiences. This story has a strong female lead, a wild fan base, and a world-famous brand that Electronic Arts and EA DICE have done a great job on.

For those who don't know, Mirror's Edge takes place in the urban jungle of a dystopian city where life is seemingly comfortable and crime is virtually non-existent. However, such well-being is the achievement of a despotic and totalitarian regime that monitors all means of communication, controls the media, and sets standards for living in society. The main character, 24-year-old Faith Connors, is a highly skilled courier, freerunner and fighter, traveling around the local world, delivering messages from the Conglomerate, the basis of a totalitarian government. But when Faith's sister is imprisoned for murder, she becomes embroiled in a government conspiracy that could bring about the end of the established social order.

Nothing more is known about the future adaptation. But in any case, this project seems more real than film adaptations of games such as Shinobi, Street of rage, as well as further rethinking King of Fighters и Mortal Kombat. Series Mortal Kombat X: Generations never started, unlike the same web series based on another computer fighting game Street Fighter, which should be shown to viewers next fall.
