Are we waiting for a Shinobi film adaptation?

In 2014, the news agency Variety spread information that the famous video game developer SEGA hired a Hollywood producer and director Evan Cholfin ("Incident at Garlock") in order for him to adapt some of the popular games into live-action and animated films. Among the proposed titles were the following games: Altered Beast, Streets of Rage, Shinobi, Rise of Nightmares, Crazy Taxi.

However, despite the serious approach and patronage of the SEGA CEO himself Tomoi Suzuki, none of Cholfin’s projects were ever “pushed” into the film company.

But recently it became known that a producer became interested in one of the titles Mark Platt ("Scott Pilgrim vs. the World") and his production company Marc Platt Productions, which merged with the production departments of SEGA - Stories International, Inc. and Hakuhodo DY Group to launch a film based on the game series Shinobi. Platt gave a little clarification on this matter.

We love games from the series "Shinobi” and believe that the world of the ninja has not been fully explored on the silver screen. Now we have the opportunity to do this. With Shinobi, we hope to give viewers content that honors the essence of the game while introducing us to a wonderful world.

Nothing more is known about the film adaptation of the famous game, but we hope that things will get off the ground. We'll wait for news.

The film adaptation of Shinobi can turn out to be interesting and entertaining if the right people are at the helm. The franchise itself is very interesting, because the series does not end with games on the old NES, but is just beginning.

In general, I would watch it.

No "Shinobi" needed! The ninja genre is no longer interesting, in my opinion. Enough has already been filmed - “Ninja 1,2” with Adkins, “Ninja Assassin” with Rain, “Shinobi” based on the manga Basilisk. In the game, Shinobi only threw shurikens and waved his sword.
Adapt Streets of Rage - a game from my childhood))) As they say, Bare knuckle!

      Vladimir,

The film adaptation of Streets of Rage, apparently, has stalled. It's a pity of course :(

      Vladimir,

the film "triple strike" with dale cook and ron hall is reminiscent of the game Bare knuckle, three heroes - white, black and woman

        lukecage,

I think it wouldn’t hurt for visitors to this site to look at Dale Cook’s filmography, especially those films where Ron Hall stars with him (I don’t remember exactly, but they starred in 3-4 films together)

        lukecage,

Thank you lukecage! I'll look for it on the net. It turns out that I haven’t seen such a film.
