James Wan is a director, screenwriter and producer whose range of work spans from low-budget horror (Insidious) to major blockbusters (Fast and Furious 7), demonstrating his versatility. Now Wang has decided to try his hand at a martial arts film, he has signed on as a producer for the upcoming reboot of the cult classic.Death Battle" (Mortal Kombat).
The film script will be written Oren Uzil (Mortal Kombat: Legacy) and Dave Callaham (The Expendables). This time the storyline will move away from mythology and show "darker, more violent real martial arts". This description is pretty close to "Legacy"Perhaps the authors want to translate the success of the web series on the big screen.
Initially, the director of this action was announced Kevin Tancharoen, but he was later removed from this position.
The cast is still unknown, perhaps it will include movie fighters from "Mortal Kombat: Legacy".
The web series worked, and so can the movie. MK is a classic, like the actors of The Expendables. You can make an equally cool film.
It won’t work, it’s a different generation, now it makes no sense to make films of this genre. You can't beat the classics.
Well, everything can be adapted. With the game, we also thought that after the 3rd part there would be only garbage, but look at 9, how they shot. And MK’s fans are legion.
How many years have they been trying to “reboot” it? I was still in school when active rumors began, how many years have passed :/
