Adaptation of Sifu, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and City Hungter to Become TV Series

It was only a matter of time before Hollywood turned its attention to the successful martial arts video game called Sifu. The game itself is quite cinematic, so rumors about a film adaptation appeared immediately. Now there are a little more details.

It became known that the script for the adaptation will be written by Derek Kolstad, who wrote the scripts for all four "John Wick", to TV series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" (2021) and "Continental" (2023), as well as an action movie "No one" directed by Ilya Naishuler.

Among the producers of the project are: Dmitry M. Johnson (dulogy “Sonic in the Movies”), Mike Goldberg (TV series "Silicon Valley") Dan Jevons (TV series "Little Nightmares") Timothy I. Stevenson (“Love Stuck”) and actor Jeff Ludwig ("Horrible").

To recap, the game centers on a martial artist's quest to take revenge on his nemesis with the help of a magical talisman that revives him whenever he is mortally wounded, causing him to age noticeably faster.

It is still unknown who will be in the director's chair and will play the main roles, but it is gratifying that the project is moving in the right direction. Last year, a promotional video for the game was released, which actually turned out to be quite high-quality combat short film. If you haven’t played it, watch the project’s trailer and form an opinion about what a Hollywood film might turn out to be.
