A new selection of short films related to martial arts is ready and presented for you.
Sifu
The first short film is also an advertisement for a computer game released in February called "Sifu" (PlayStation 5 exclusive) by martial arts practitioner and action designer Christopher Clark Cowan ("Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", "King's man: The Beginning").
In the film, the central character is the owner of a magical talisman that revives him every time he dies. This makes the hero age noticeably faster.
The main role was played by a stuntman and actor Alvin Sin (TV series “The Mandalorian”), and stuntmen “play along” with him Jay Kwon, Jen Song and others.
Call
Another short film based on a popular computer game "Ghosts of Tsushima" shot by actor Stephen Ford (TV series “Werewolf”, “Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight”). A consultant on the plot of the original game helped him with this Mari Takahashi.
If you haven't played the game, it's about a ronin who takes revenge for the murder of his family in the setting of the Mongol occupation of Japan.
The main role in the film was played by a well-known martial artist, stuntman and actor. Yoshi Sudarso (“Cowboys”), who also directed the action scenes in the short film.
Uncharted vs Tomb Rider vs Indiana Jones
A short film whose title will interest any fan of adventure films and computer games was made by Devin Graham from a team of freerunners and stuntmen DevinSuperTramp.
The film was shot in Uzbekistan and tells the story of the confrontation between the canonical antiquity hunters.
The main roles were played by Braxton McAllister, Michaela McAllister и Corbett McAllister.
Kingdom Hearts 4
A martial arts practitioner, stuntman, fight choreographer and director was pleased with the new project Josh Maybee from the channel Rogue Origin Films.
The film was released on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the computer game series Kingdom Hearts.

"Sifu" is worthy. And, I don’t know, the Trinity of Adventurers? I haven’t rewatched it, but I remember that there are no fights, but the stunts are relatively good and the general atmosphere is due to the scale of the filming. If there are few contenders, then “Kingdom Hearts” is possible, although there is also little of it and it was filmed with a shaky camera, in the dark and with special effects from above. Like in the treat fighter from the previous collection.
«Sifu" - great, just great! The fighters are in amazing shape, the choreography is quite good, and the director’s decisions are excellent. Few!
«Call“It’s already noticeably worse, but you can still see it. There's a certain charm to an Asian Western, but it's a short film with elements kendo, not martial arts. So you don’t have to watch it.
«Uncharted vs Tomb Rider vs Indiana Jones" The acting is in deep minus (the script is to blame), but at least it is there. And there is a funny plot. They also went for very cool sets for a short film. The fight choreography isn't exactly impressive, but the stunt work is pretty good. The film is definitely in the collection!
«Kingdom Hearts 4"is more of a teaser trailer or even a music video. But beautiful.
«Street Fighter x Tekken"Exactly the expected quality, no better and no worse than other fan films on street fighter and tekken. But in principle, they were confused about making combat choreography for the game. I liked how the technique looks in real life, when the fighter spins around an axis with his leg extended. Or that uppercut turned out beautifully.
«Power Rangers“—perhaps worse than the hospital average. The lighting, color correction and camera work look especially bad. Average choreography and form of fighters.
