Next in our selection is a comedy-adventure action film from South Korea called "Smugglers" (Smuggling).

The director and screenwriter of the film was Ryu Seung-wan, known for such noteworthy films as "City of Violence" (2006) "Berlin Affair" (2013) "Veteran" (2015) and "Escape from Mogadishu" (2021)

Synopsis: In the 1970s, there were female divers living in Kuncheon (a small village by the sea), including two best friends Chunja and Jin-sook, her brother Jin-sook and Hummer. They always collected seafood underwater for living. But since several factories began to be built near the beach, the heroines have problems with what they do for a living. Left with no choice, the ship's crews decided to start a smuggling business on the water to find a way to make money. But the smuggling business in their village became too much for Jin-sook's family, and the peaceful village gradually became the territory of several gangs.

Famous South Korean actors starred in the film: Kim Hye-soo ("Special") Yeom Jong-ah (dulogy “Aliens”), Cho In-sung ("The Great Battle") Ko Ming-shi ("Decision to Leave") Park Jung-min (“Deliver us from evil”) and others.

As the synopsis goes: Instead of following the rule of settling disputes behind closed doors, they take their fight to the streets.
