Has Tony Leung ended his relationship with Wong Kar-wai?

Despite quite successful box office receipts and rave reviews from critics of all stripes, the new film Won Kar-wai "Great master" / "The Grandmaster" (earlier Great masters / The grandmasters) did not cause much delight among the popular Hong Kong actor Tony Luna (Leung Chu-wai), who played the role Ip Man. It is reported that things got to the point where he stopped communicating with the director.

50-year-old Leung was shocked by how many scenes with his participation were cut from the film, and yet he had been involved in the production for the past ten years, studying for three years Wing Chun and twice broke his hands on the set.

Director Won Kar-wai explained his decision to reduce the number of scenes with Tony Leung by that Yip Man was a man of few words, and he felt it necessary to remove as much dialogue as possible involving him.

Since most episodes Leung и Ziyi filmed separately Tony I was not aware that the actress got so much screen time, although she certainly played her role with dignity. According to him, he devoted himself entirely to his work, but in the end he turned out to be just a minor character.

Despite the fact that Leung, while fulfilling his professional obligations by participating in advertising campaigns in Taiwan and Guangzhou, he no longer attends business dinners with Won Kar-wai, which suggests that his relationship with the director is apparently broken.

Вон, for its part, is trying to correct the current situation by calling acting Luna "the pinnacle of acting", however, the wife Tony, Karina Lau, did not believe these compliments and even published them in her micro-blog, calling "pathetic excuse", which caused a sympathetic reaction from many netizens.

Interesting fact: According to some reports, Tony Leung only managed to understand after the seventh viewing what the film itself was about. o_O

Rumor has it that distributors are trying to persuade Kar-wai to make a sequel to The Great Master. Tony Leung said that he is not going to star in the sequel (if there is one), it’s not fun for him to constantly play the same role.

They'll probably release another extended version to make some extra money. Tony Leung can be understood, even Van Damme was a little disappointed when he saw the final editing of the fight with Stallone, who worked a little on the fight and worked for about 3 months. and Lung, as I remember, in the last so many years, he was only involved in these films, and he was cut down. Of course it's a shame.

Why did you film so much material, the director asks? Tony Leung is understandable.
