"Chasing" John Woo during filming

John Woo began filming his new film - an action-packed thriller "The pursuit"(Manhunt), which is a remake of the 1976 Japanese classic Dangerous Pursuit directed by Junya Sato and starring the legendary Ken Takakura.

The new project was not easy for John. At first there was no suitable script for a long time, then from a ready-made one strong acting ensemble future hit South Korean actor dropped out Lee Byung Hung. But now, it seems, nothing prevents us from completely immersing ourselves in the filming process, which has already begun in Osaka, Japan and will continue until October of this year.

More details about "Persecution" For example, the cast, which included Zhang Hanyu, Masaharu Fukuyama и Hee Ji-won, replenished actresses Qi Wei ("Return"), Jun Kunimura ("Kill Bill") and Tao Okamoto (“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”), mastodons of Japanese cinema Naoto Takenaka ("Shinjuku Incident") and Yasuaki Kurata (“Dragon Princess”), Japanese pop star Nanami Sakuraba and charismatic Hiroyuki Ikeuchi ("Yip Man").

The film's budget is 30 million US dollars.

Unfortunately, it also became known that the film will be released in China at the beginning of 2018. We can only hope that the film will open in Japan or Europe in 2017.

The first footage from the set of “Pursuit” has appeared online. The photographs show, as always, the charismatic Zhang Hanyu and the charming Hee Ji-Won.
