Prequel to "Furies", Michael Jai White vs. Aliens, new projects by Jackie Woo

Hand-to-hand star Michael Jai White Quite prolific for his 53 years. The actor picks up one project after another, and we lose count, trying to “knock out” what we have.

Today, Michael “owes” the following films to his fans: thriller "Return", action films "Red 48", "Commando" и "Assault on Virginia 33", as well as White’s long-term comedy – "Johnny Black Outlaw".

You can safely add a science-fiction thriller to these projects "Black Friday" (Black Friday) directed by Casey Tebo ("Happy birthday").

The story will unfold around the store's staff on the eve of a total Black Friday sale. This day is already not a gift, but our heroes could not even guess that the crowd standing on the street, waiting for the store doors to open, was under the control of a mysterious alien parasite. Without knowing it, the pier's team must not only survive the coming bacchanalia, but also save no less than humanity.

The main role will be played by the 62-year-old horror movie legend Bruce Campbell (the Evil Dead franchise), and company for him, in addition to Michael Jai White (“Undisputed 2”, “Tyson”) will be: Devon Sawa ("Destination"), Ivana Bakero ("Pan's Labyrinth") Louis Kurtzman (“Dead Flesh”) and other actors.

Hopefully they'll let Michael wave his arms and legs and not use his name solely to attract public attention (hey, "Roll into asphalt"!).

The film will be released in the first decade of 2021, and we are already waiting for the trailer and release date. Based on the synopsis, it should be fun.

Prequel to "Furies", Michael Jai White vs. Aliens, new projects by Jackie Woo

Just recently we wrote that the star of Chinese action cinema Jackie Wu (the “War of the Wolves” duology) may return to action films in the Russo brothers’ Hollywood project. We are always happy to see Jackie on screen, although he has hardly appeared in action roles over the past few years.

But that doesn't mean that Wu Jing sits without work - he actively acts in dramas, comedies and patriotic action films, such as the recently released military drama "Feat". But this, it seems, is not enough, and Wu has another high-profile project on his schedule - a film at the helm of which are three classics of Chinese cinema - Chen Kaige (“The Emperor and the Assassin”, “And the Monk Came Down from the Mountains”, “The Legend of the Demon Cat”), Dante Lam (“The Last Airbenders 2”, “MMA”, “Operation Red Sea”) and Tsui Hark (Detective Dee franchise).

It's about a military action movie. "Battle of Chosin Reservoir" (The Battle at Lake Changjin), the plot of which will unfold during one of the most brutal and decisive battles of the Korean War (1950-1953).

Jackie is assigned the main role, but in general the acting ensemble is filled with famous names: Zhang Hanyu ("In the name of honor") Jackson I ("Better days"), Zheng Kai (“Shadow”) and others.

Another project that interests us Wu Jinga (do not consider a sports drama as such "Chinese ping pong", which is also about to begin filming) is another film adaptation of the novel by the famous Chinese writer Liu Zingxin called "Ball lightning" (Ball Lightning).

The project is being developed by an actor, screenwriter and director Chen Sicheng (Chinatown Detective trilogy).

The plot of the book tells the story of the scientist Chen, whose family dies from ball lightning. The scientist devotes his entire subsequent life to this phenomenon, and reaches incredible heights in its study, which interests military technology researcher Lin Yuan, and he invites Chen to join the team developing modern weapons.

Once again, it is said that Wu has been assigned the lead role, which he will share with Zhang Yi (“Operation in the Red Sea”).

By the way, Jackie Wu has already starred in the film adaptation of Zinxin’s novel - "The Wandering Earth" (2019), the sequel of which, by the way, is scheduled for 2023.

So the ex-wushu champion and hand-to-hand actor Jackie Wu Jinga There are more than enough projects. We only hope that he will show more of his skills on the screen in the projects described above. In the meantime, let's keep our finger on the pulse.
