Mini-news: The Stunt, GI Joe: Retaliation, Flying Swords of Dragon Gate

Director's new documentary Satanaponga Limwongthonga "The Stunt" takes viewers behind the scenes and reveals the lives and careers of stuntmen. Conversations and interviews with the most famous directors, actors and, of course, stuntmen await you. They will talk about their job and how they do it. This will give you a better understanding of the world of Thai fight cinema.

The film is due out in 2012. It is currently in post-production.

On December 12th, the premiere of a new film took place in Beijing. Tsui Harka “Flying Swords of Dragon Gate” (Flying Swords of Dragon Gate).

Tsui Hark became the first director to shoot an entire film using 3D cameras. Chuck Comiskey, who worked as a special effects supervisor at “Avatar” James Cameron.

    On December 13th, the first Chinese digital IMAX system was demonstrated in Beijing.

    The system, called DMAX, was developed by the China Film Science and Technology Research Institute and China Film Group.

    Experts say the system provides better visual and audio effects at a lower cost than standard IMAX systems.

    The director of the institute, Yang Xuepei, said that the films “Flying Swords of Dragon Gate” and “Flowers of War” will be shown at DMAX.

    According to Xuepei, the system can be adapted to any technology that will be developed in the near future.

    In the meantime, Tsui Hark recommends watching the film “Flowers of War,” which is its direct competitor at the box office.
