Short films Tiger Cop, Dragon of the Law, Avatar, Kid Fury and Kung Fu vs. Zombies

Martial arts practitioner, stuntwoman, actress, producer and director from Australia - Maria Tran (“Dragon’s Fist”, “Tracer”, “Heart of Steel”) is not uncommon on our website, since Maria has more than enough plans. Firstly, she is preparing an ambitious documentary about forgotten stunt women. Secondly, two of her full-length projects are in development: an action comedy Hit Girls and fantasy thriller echo 8.

Tiger Cop: Toilet Paper Hero

And Maria is also credited with the second season of the web series "Tiger Cops", which grew from the same name short films. Tran fans have been waiting for the second season not only because of the ending of the police story, but also because of the action film legend Richard Norton, who played the main villain of the series. It was in the second season that Richard had to show what he was capable of at 70 years old.

However, the coronavirus ruined all plans, and instead of the second season Maria Tran and series director Adrian Castro released a short film, which received the subtitle "Toilet Paper Hero" (Tiger Cop: Toilet Paper Hero).

Tran herself returned to her role as a police inspector named Tiger. The role of her partner went to a stuntman David Hong, and the main villain was Takashi Hara (“Operation Agnipath”).

Dragon of the Law

Another film from Australia and another reference to Hong Kong hand-to-hand action films of the 80s. This time the short film belongs to the creative association Silver Harvest and the director David Vuong.

In the film, a police inspector protects another policeman from an attack by criminals and pursues the main villain.

Played the main role in the film David Hong. Other roles: Michael Tang, Eric Tat and others.

Avatar The Last Airbender: Agni Kai

The guys from the channel pleased us with a new video RE:ANIME, who film scenes of hand-to-hand combat from famous cartoons.

This time the American animated series was targeted "Avatar". In this video, brother and sister, the firebenders Zuko and Azula, come together in mortal combat.

The following took part in the film: Yoshi Sudarso, Nikki Sooho и Yasmin Kassim.

Kid Fury: The Phantom Witch

Niche film director Gino Kahn (the “Fist to Fist” duology) filmed a sequel to his hand-to-hand short film "Guy's Rage", which he released in 2017.

The film continues the story of a young martial artist who is searching for a mysterious box.

The main role again featured the practice of hand-to-hand combat Timothy Maas well as himself Gino Kahn. The rest of the caste includes: Virginia Rallowjay, Jeff Brand, Jeffrey Hu, Tony Yang и Vincent Hui.

Mulan: An East Side Story

Hooray, stunt team and independent film studio at the same time Team Red Pro released another short film. These same guys recently gave us a cool Afro Samurai Champloo, and now they've turned their attention to the classic Disney animated musical - Mulan.

In fact, this film is a musical action number based on the song "I'll Make a Thug Outta You" (a parody of the song from the cartoon “You are a fighter!”).

As usual, the director's helm of the film is Joseph Le, and played the main roles Leroy Nguyen ("Black Scar Blues") Jackie Kim (“Afro-Samurai Vinaigrette”), Travis Davis и Smitty Teas.

The Secret Boss

The stuntman and hand-to-hand action director was pleased with a small sketch Kyle Murillo.

He directed a video called "Secret Boss", in which the player faces off against a secret boss in the game.

Kyle, who also did the fight choreography in the sketch, played the main role and competed in the fight Joseph Oresti.

Kung Fu vs. Zombies – Return of Wing Kong!

We would like to end today’s selection with an animated short film. It is interesting to us because its director and fight choreographer is an independent fight film star Eric Jacobas (Mortal Kombat web series).

This cartoon is not Eric’s first attempt to make animated films, but this time he took up his favorite topic - martial arts in a computer game setting.

The cartoon has no plot. Just famous martial arts archetypes fighting hordes of bloodthirsty zombies.

What do you think about Jacobas’s endeavors as a newly minted director in animation, you can write in the comments. And we are waiting for some other project of the bearded man, but with live actors.
