Filming of action movie The Monk has begun in China

Columbia Pictures, which has entered into a number of deals with Chinese production companies, announced that in Xianghe (Hebei Province) under the direction of the director Chen Kaige (Chen Kaige) Filming is underway for a new martial arts movie called "Monk" (The Monk).

Plot:

To survive in the outside world, a young monk forced to abandon his dilapidated monastery is left to rely only on his extreme fighting skills. In his search for a mentor, he encounters a kung fu master in possession of the Book of Secrets, which reveals the once-lost deadly kung fu technique “Monkey Kick.” Two villains - father and son - want to take possession of rare knowledge at any cost. To save the book and protect his teacher, the monk is forced to engage in mortal combat.

The main role is played by the actor Wang Baoqiang (Wang Baoqiang), known for action films "Unbeatable", "Iceman 3D" и "Last of the Best" (aka "Kung Fu Killer")

The choreography of the fights is entrusted to Ku Huan-Chu (Ku Huan-Chiu), the operator is an Australian Jeffrey Simpson (Geoffrey Simpson), the music for the film is written by the famous German composer Klaus Badelt (Klaus Badelt), and the company is responsible for special effects "Animal Logic" (“300”, “The Matrix Reloaded”).

The company has been entrusted with distributing the film in China "New Classics Media". In other countries, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, this will be done Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI).

    Wang Baoqiang appeared in the film Choy Li Fut, where he fought with Jie Miu. Very thin, but moves well.
