Trailers for the films "Special Assignment", "Alliance of Heroes" and "Detective Dee and the Four Heavenly Kings"

Independent films shot for online platforms and network distribution in China today have become a truly integral part of the film business there. From small, cheap projects with unknown filmmakers, Internet cinema has grown into a self-sufficient creative platform, where money and... stars have flowed. We have already written about similar projects to Tiger Chen "Kung Fu Traveler" and Sammy Hunga "Ghost Boxing". But now they've been joined by a martial artist and actor Louis Fan.

Louis Fan, whose most notable roles are perhaps that of the master of the northern fist from the first "Ip Man" (2008) and the action movie Sword Art "Last of the Best" (2014), still deserves interesting solo projects. And, we hope, one of these was a film made specifically for online cinemas called "Special Assignment" (Special Mission) director Yinya Chenyang (“Rebel Soldiers”, “Innocent City”).

As usual, in the case of such a movie, it is not possible to find plot details. But judging by the trailer, Chenyang's film is very similar to "War of the Wolves 2" Jackie Wu Jing. Yes, yes, all the similarities are in the tanks!

But there is a caste in which, in addition to the Luisa Fanya, included: Augusta Hsu-Holland ("The Last Race") Yang Ming ("Surprise attack"), Guo Zhen (“Innocent City”) and others.

In a Chinese online cinema Youku "Special Assignment" Appeared April 27 2018 years. Well, we hope the action movie will reach our viewers. In the meantime, here's the trailer.

The next trailer belongs to a film about which we have already written - "Alliance of Heroes" (The Unity of Heroes), which earlier had a simpler name "Wong Fei-Hungg".

The director of the film is Lin Zhenzhao (TV series “Chinese Superhero”), and the main role went to a martial artist and actor Vincent Zhao (“God of War”), who will embody on the screen the image of the Chinese folk hero Wong Fei-Hungg for the fourth time.

What exactly the film will be about is still unknown. There are still rumors that the Thirteenth Aunt in this version of the legend will be a cyborg. Judging by the trailer, Fei-Hungg himself is quite human. Well... Or we are all being misled and we will only find out about everything when we watch “Alliance of Heroes”.

In addition to Zhao, the film stars: Michael Tong ("God of War"), Wei Ni ("Woman in the Shadows") Li Bingyuan (“Painted Skin 2”) and other actors.

It also became known that the American distribution company Well Go USA acquired the film for limited theatrical release in North America.

Well, we just have to not confuse "Alliance of Heroes" с "Kung Fu Alliance", wait for exit "Invisible Tattoo" with the same Vincent Zhao, and watch the trailer for the next film about the adventures of Wong Fei-Hungg, which will be released on the Internet platform iQiyi May 18, 2018.

However, we want to finish today’s selection with a more serious project from the cult Chinese director Tsui Harka (“The Hitman”, “Bright Future”) - the third film in the series about the adventures of the famous book character Detective Dee under the title "Four Heavenly Kings" (Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings).

Let us remember that the film "Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame" (2010), as well as its prequel Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon (2013) were very successful at the box office, and the third film in the series I've been preparing for quite a long time. However, after the festival film "Tiger Mountain Capture" (2014), Hark focused his energies on the second film in another franchise "Journey to the West: Demons" (2017). But ultimately, the master returned to the young detective Dee.

Snopsis: the empress's worst dream comes true - right in the palace, the statue of the powerful Dragon King comes to life and escapes. The Empress orders a squad of skilled warriors to be assembled to kill the monster, and Detective Dee will have to uncover a government conspiracy.

The main role, as in the previous film in the series, was played by Mark Chao (“Warriors’ Gate”) will also return to their roles: Kenny Lin ("Journey to the West: Demons"), William Fan (“The Monkey King 2-3”), as well as a legend of Chinese cinema Karina Lau (“Armor of God”, “Project A: Part 2”, “Ashes of Time”).

"Detective Dee and the Four Heavenly Kings" will be released in China already July 27, 2018. And then the company Well Go USA is set to open in limited release in North America. But for now we can only settle for the trailer.

And the four heavenly kings, as I understand it, will be played by Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, Leon Lai and Jackie Cheung?

        Danil Chupakhin,

It was a joke. Canto-pop. In the 1990s, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, Jackie Cheung and Leon Lai were called the "Four Heavenly Kings of Canto-Pop". Then in the 2000s there were “New Heavenly Kings”. And then the Mainland closed up shop

All projects are very interesting. But I’m afraid that the first two will not reach us, at least with translation. I hope I'm wrong, I'll wait. :)

The Unity of Heroes should appear now that Well Go USA has bought it.
