Japanese director Shunsaku Kawake began his career in the late 80s, eventually becoming one of the most popular TV directors and a true legend of the TV channel Fuji TV.
Kawake-san is primarily known for such paintings as "Ronin 1/47" (2001) "Randy the Boy and the Baby Elephant" (2005) and "Sand castle" (2019). Now he is presenting his new project - a film adaptation of a popular detective novel from the middle of the last century. "Beyan: Doctor Killer" (Baian: The Assassin MD). It is impossible not to note the fact that the music for the film Kawake was written by the legendary Kenji Kawaii (Ip Man franchise) behind which there are more than 200 different projects.
The film is about a former samurai, now a titular acupuncturist and healer, who secretly dispenses justice as a master assassin. Interestingly, this novel has already been adapted twice into TV films and once for film distribution. In the 1972 version he played the main role Ken Ogata, in the 1990 version - well known to us Ken Watanabe. And in the 1981 feature film he played the role of Beyan Kinnosuke Yorozuya.
This time the main role went to the actor Etsushi Toyokawa (“Moonchild”, “Kingdom 2”), the rest of the ensemble includes: Yuki Amami (“The Devoted Husband of Miyamoto”), Toshiro Yanagiba ("The Story of Hachiko") Kaoru Kobayashi ("The Emperor's Cook") Kippei Sina (“Mayhem”) and others.
"Doctor Killer" divided into two full films. The premiere of the first is scheduled for February 3, and the second – on April 7 2023 years.
The trailer for a new film by the cult Chinese director, screenwriter and visionary has also appeared online. Zhang Yimou (“Red Kaoliang”, “Hero”, “House of Flying Daggers”, “Curse of the Golden Flower”).
Yimou's new project is called "Flowing Red River" (Full River Red), which Zhang directed from his own script, adapting a collection of Chinese poems written in the 12th century into the story.
Synopsis: Song Empire, 1146. Minister Qin Hui is about to negotiate with the Jin state, but on the eve of the meeting, the ambassador is killed and his secret letter goes missing. The minister orders his two subordinates to figure out what happened as quickly as possible.
The following actors took part in the film: Jackson I ("Better days"), Shen Teng ("Moon Man") Zhang Yi (“Ashes are the purest white”), Lei Jiaying ("The Wandering Earth") Guo Jingfei (“Assassin: Battle of the Worlds”) and others.
"Flowing Red River" should be released in 2023, but the exact premiere date has not yet been announced.

We are talking about a historical action film called "Murderer" (The Assassin), directed and written by Kwak Jeong-deok, famous for his disaster film "Eruption" (2019)
Synopsis: Yi-nan is Joseon's greatest assassin, also called "Salsu". He carries out missions to eliminate his targets with precision and ease. But when he discovers that he has a heart condition, the hero must put his brutal career on hold to hit the road and find an herb that can cure the disease. Soon, the hunter suddenly becomes the hunted when it becomes known that there is a bounty on his head.
The main role in the film was played by a 54-year-old venerable actor. Shin Hyun-jun (“Bishunmo is a flying warrior”), and he is accompanied by: Lin Moon-shik ("Healer") Kim Min-kyung ("Miss and Mrs. Cope") Choi Sung-won (“Return to 1988”) and others.
"Murderer" should appear in online cinemas in February 2023, but the exact premiere date is still unknown. But there is a teaser trailer.
