Latest gossip about Mortal Kombat

On a site with a very interesting name Bloody Disgusting (translated as “damn disgusting”) a small rumor appeared that Warner Brothers intends to “restart” the project “Mortal Kombat” (Mortal Kombat). If rumors are to be believed, then Oren Yuziel will be entrusted with writing the script, and this is not entirely good, since many of Yuziel’s works, including the script for “Shimmering Lake,” were on the “black list” consisting of unclaimed scripts from all over Hollywood.

Mortal Kombat fans have been waiting for the third part of the film for years, eagerly following news and rumors, but now, apparently, everything will depend on Warner Brothers, which owns the rights to the Mortal Kombat project. Whether she will continue to develop the existing concept or start from scratch is not known for certain. But, most likely, the appearance of a new film is only a matter of time.

Whoever takes on the creation of “Mortal Kombat” will face considerable difficulties ahead, judging by the unsuccessful recent film adaptations of video games. I hope that the militants "Tekken" with John Foo and "King of Fighters" Ray Park will have better luck, and they won’t be as disastrous as, for example, last year’s “Street Fighter” with Kristin Kreuk.

When creating such a project, it would not hurt to listen to the opinions of fans. Many fans are thirsty for blood in the literal sense of the word, or rather for the high age limit “R” and the famous fatalities that brought popularity to the Mortal Kombat series of games. They demand spectacles in the form of ripped out spines, severed limbs and fiery incineration, and not sugary melodrama and rope kung fu.

The main thing is that the film does not go into trash. For brutality and fatality, you will need a department of experienced computer graphics artists, and this is such a mountain of money that the Wachevsky brothers never dreamed of in their wildest dreams =) You need to very carefully select the director and the person who will do editing. Otherwise, it will be a modern video clip with elements of trash, which everyone will very quickly put in the shame of the year section. Shu is definitely unlikely to be hired, he is too old for Liu Kang. And I think Cage will also be played by another actor, half of the actors are already aged , and here you need tricks no worse than those of JA or in adrenaline, who wants to see the backs of stunt doubles?!

Yes, and most importantly - the quality of the bloody special effects is like in the last "Final Destination". %)

I hope Lambert will accept the role of Raiden...
Linden Ashby as Cage is not bad as a comedian, but is far from BI.
Robin Shue may agree after being released in Street Fighter.
Casamassu is a must, and John Medlen! ;)
    The rest are optional...
