Peter Litchfield talks Tom Yum Goong 2

Briton Peter Litchfield (Peter Litchfield), living in Thailand and practicing Wing Chun, shared on his blog some details of his participation in the filming of a new Thai action film "Tom Yum Goong 2" (ต้มยำกุ้ง2 / The Protector 2 / Warrior King 2). Here's what he posted:

Previously, I decided not to write about the film due to the fact that the set had strict rules regarding information leaks. I also don't know what footage will be used and what will be cut, so I don't want to say in advance how much screen time I get, since I don't know how the editing will end.

I can only say that I have a supporting role along with Pettai Wongkamlao. Up to this point, I had already acted in individual episodes with small dialogues. We're still filming and it will continue for a few more months.

Although I don't fight in the film, I got the role because of my martial arts background. In Bangkok, I repeatedly received offers to star in various roles, but I was never eager to lead a life consisting of all sorts of castings, auditions, relying on agents, etc. In addition, I have my own business that needs to be taken care of. Long story short, a while back I was filmed by a guy I trained in Wing Chun, the tapes somehow ended up in the hands of the director, I was contacted, and I got the part.

The film will be inмate 3D and will be released, I believe, somewhere in 30 countries.

The filming experience was amazing and it was such an honor to work with the likes of Tony Jaa, Jija Yanin and Pettai Wongkamlao. I also met other great people, including actor/model Tom Stanton, who became a good friend, and co-director Adrient Bowden, who recently married Gija Janine...

Some people have to work really hard to get a chance like this, so for me it's a blessing from above. I don’t know what will happen next. I liked it, but I'm not chasing anything else. If the right opportunity presents itself, I am interested and no particular difficulties are foreseen, then I will agree.

I'll post more information when I'm allowed to reveal more details, possibly a release date, which I imagine will be early 2013.

Interesting, I haven’t looked at Tony Jaa’s work for a long time. I would like to see something new in his performance
