Tucker Film wants to acquire Detective Dee and the Reign of Assassins

Young distribution company Tucker Film is in active negotiations to acquire the rights to distribute two Chinese autumn hits in Italy.

Tucker Film, which is only one year old, intends to buy Tsui Hark's "Detective Di and the Mystery of the Phantom Fire" from Huayi Brothers. And from “Fortissimo Films” it will purchase the action movie “The Power of Assassins” by Su Chao-Ping.

Both films premiered last month at the Venice Film Festival, just a few miles from Tucker Film's offices.

This is a major step forward for the new company, as until now it only owned the rights to one film - the Japanese Oscar-winning drama Departures.

“Tucker Film” is headed by Sabrina Baracetti and Thomas Bertacce, who are members of the management of the “Far East Film” film festival in Udine.
