Short films Immortal 65, Duty – Out of Line, Rudimentary, Subtle Hoodie Heist and The Better Forever

The end of the year is approaching, and with it our project to sum up the results of action cinema. This is where we started "preparation", remembering those films on our topic that you might have missed over the year. We also continue to publish short films and videos from fans of action cinema, so that we can find contenders and winners in this category as well.

Immortal 65

A new film has appeared on the channel Rogue Origin Films martial arts practitioner, stuntman and stage director Josh Mabey. Over the course of this year, these guys have given us a lot of high-quality combat videos on the theme of the clash of famous but fictional characters from various works.

This time Mabey and her colleagues turned their attention to the characters of the Marvel comic book series "Iron Fist", which was recently filmed on Netflix.

In the film, the main character of the story, Orson Randall, tries to get his hands on the mysterious Book of the Iron Fist, written on parchment made from dragon scales. But it’s not just Randall who needs the book.

The main role was played by someone we know well Christian Howard (“Hooligans 3”, “Warrior”, series “Street Fighter”), and he was accompanied by: Lee Chesley (series “SWAT: Special Forces of the City of Angels”), Peipei Alina Yuan (“Step Up 3D”), Chizuyo Maruyama ("Hanako") and Gaku Space (TV series “Westworld”).

Duty – Out of Line

We are also glad that an excellent German stuntman and fight choreographer Felix Fukuyoshi found time in his busy schedule to make a comedy short film that takes us back to the Hong Kong “cop” hits of the early 80s.

Synopsis: Miss Special Agent (Julia Shunevich) escorts a high-ranking scientist (Hoi Chau) to safety, but a masked assassin (Felix Fukuyoshi) crosses their path to kill the scientist. Protecting the life of his ward is a task for which our experienced special agent is very well prepared, but things do not go so smoothly when it turns out that the scientist is a naive misogynist...

Accordingly, they fought in a funny and absurd battle Julia Shunevich and himself Felix Fukuyoshi, who was responsible for the fight choreography. But he was responsible for stunt tricks Andy Long ("Commando 3").

Rudimentary

As is often the case with Brian Sloyer, a short plotless video was released on his channel, in which the director and his stuntmen perform beautiful choreography. There is no point, but you can enjoy the fight scenes.

In frame Micah Carnes clashes with Dominic Smith и Ruben Maldonado.

Subtle Hoodie Heist

A new comedy sketch was filmed jointly by creative teams Silver Harvest и Hong Xin International Pictures, namely the director David Hong.

In this funny story, a guy wants to get his hoodie back from a thief, but he has to literally fight him off.

In the frame they wave their arms, legs and wardrobe elements Matthew Fong и Doohyun Kun.

The Better Forever

The director was featured in a new combat video Josh Aries. In fact, he filmed his sketch while on lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The plot of the video is as simple as possible: a man wakes up with a gag in his mouth, tied to a stranger with tape. An old TV nearby orders a fight to begin and you need to figure out what to do now.

Participated in the fight Alex Lovekink, Kevin Locsin и Kalila Ball.

You can only watch about the hoodie and “Rudimentary”, and I wasn’t too impressed. It’s better not to watch the rest, especially “Better forever” - this is cringe and Spanish shame.

      Wave,

Ty. What didn't you like about the first two short films?

Danil Chupakhin, the first one is kind of insignificant, but the second one is clearly visible that the woman there is absolutely not a rival to the man. She doesn’t have the conditioning to fight him on equal terms. And this creates a feeling of falsehood.
