Jet Li to Star in New Dragon Tavern

The Fans Jet Li, accustomed to seeing their idol in action films rather than dramas, can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The Crienglish website reported that after the drama “Ocean Heaven,” Jet Li signed 12 millionth contract with Tsui Harkom to star in the remake of the 1992 film “Dragon Tavern” (Dragon Inn).

Company Polybona, who will be in charge of producing the film, decided to pay such an exorbitant sum to inspire Jet Li and Tsui Hark ahead of their first collaboration in 18 years.

Thanks to the film series “Once upon a time in China” (Once Upon a Time in China) Lee received one of his most famous roles - the role Wong Fei Hungga. But in 1992, rumors spread that during the filming of the third part they did not get along with each other.

A remake called “New Dragon Tavern” (New Dragon Inn), will be filmed in 3D. The events of the film will unfold around the general Chow Wai-On (Chow Wai-On) from the Ming Dynasty, who fights a power-hungry eunuch Cao Siu-Yang (Tsao Siu-Yan) in a tavern called “Dragon Gate” (Dragon Gate), located in the middle of the desert.

Jet Li will play the role of the general Chow Wai-On. Zhou Xun was cast as a seductive tavern owner named Jade. Who will play Cao Siu-Yang not yet known.

Filming is set to begin in September this year.
