Blood Money: posters, trailer and release date

August 28, 2012 at DVD и Blu-ray (including a special two-disc edition) a new action movie will be released called "Blood Money" (Blood Money). Starring a 22-year-old instructor from Shaolin Zheng Liu (Zheng Liu). He plays the role of a Shaolin fighter who, after killing his parents and kidnapping his sister, begins to take revenge on an international drug cartel.

Director/writer/producer Gregory McQualter said that in 2005 he went to Henan Province in the hope of finding “the next Bruce Lee.” After a lengthy search among thousands of candidates, a long-term contract was signed with Zheng Liu, which was “head and shoulders above” everyone else, and not only figuratively, but also in the literal sense. Subsequently Liu moved to Thailand, where he studied Muay Thai from the most famous instructors, and then went to Australia and studied there MMA, learned English and honed his acting. Excellent use of weapons Zheng capable of things that many cannot do, for example, breaking a steel pipe with a blow to his head or breaking through thick glass with a throw of a needle (this simply could not help but end up in the film). Filming took place in Australia, Hong Kong and Miami on a personal budget of $1,7 million without any support from major Hollywood film studios. McQualter claims that there was "real contact" in the fights and there were no tricks, not even stuntmen. A second part is currently planned and will be filmed in New York, Miami, Colombia, the Bahamas, Monte Carlo, Italy and Shanghai.

Overall, not the worst action movie. The pathos is off the scale in some places, the cables are there, the staging is rather weak, and the special effects are frankly cheap, but there is potential. Films through the heels may begin to breathe down the back of Donnie Yen's neck.

Yes, I can’t say much about the plot, I watched it in English and understood from the fifth to the tenth, but nevertheless I watched it and didn’t skip from fight to fight.

Hm... Frankly speaking, I liked the trailer. But I doubt it will make a good hand-to-hand action movie. At best, just a good action movie. In general, we'll wait and see.

I agree with protvin, they obviously went overboard with Bruce Lee, but in any case, I think the film is worth watching. The trailer is beautiful in places and the posters are pretentious :)

Subtitles, yes, but they somehow don’t interfere with viewing and after 5 minutes you stupidly don’t see them... And the quality is quite normal... on a one-and-a-half-meter panel, of course, it’s not ice, but on a monitor it’s what you need! Download it, you won't regret it!)

Lying everywhere, but either the quality is sad or the Korean subtitles cannot be turned off :)

    Bruce Lee on ropes? Sadly....

Okay, okay. No worse than the last 150 million Chinese bullshit movies. At least you can watch the fights. And given the fact that there is a lot of shooting in addition to fights, one can hope that the pauses will be filled with it, and not with cheap and primitive Chinese-Thai “drama.”
PS. Although, of course, I don’t have any big illusions about this film :)
Better tell me where to download "Raid"? :)

Yeah, they’re the ones who are obsessed with Bruce Lee... Cheap, dark and with acting at the level of a children’s matinee...

Come on, you can see from the trailer that it's cheap.
Bruce Lee is new - they wouldn't disgrace themselves.

    Author's gravatar

yes, but there would have to be a first-class fight director... otherwise it’s not a fact that it will be revealed

And this Zheng Liu is really nothing...)))
