In general...we'll see. In my opinion, everything so far suggests that it will turn out to be complete nonsense. Wait and see.

As for talents (like Russell Crowe), this is normal practice: in small films (budget 20 million), famous actors are invited to play small roles, they will be promoted on an equal basis with the main characters, in order to somehow interest the viewer in going to see the film.

Well, he's far from a newbie. RZA has long been obsessed with old kung fu movies and has been studying it himself for a long time. His film will be more like Tarantino's tribute to the classics, with all the possible clichés of the Hong Kong action films that he grew up with. His film will turn out good simply due to the fact that he will not invent a wheel, but simply adapt the theme to suit himself with a hip-hop soundtrack. Plus, so many talents on stage only prove that it should turn out at least as good.
And enough of this ilitism that he hasn’t studied kung fu for 30 years with the best masters of Shaolin, so he can’t act in kung fu films and is finally not a kid in life. Many good actors started singing/dancing/fighting/extreme driving just for the sake of films and they turned out wonderful pictures.
RZA shows how he can punch (not Tony Ja, but still good for a regular guy from the Bronx):

Selpaso, why did you already decide that there will be trash?

Well.....if you look at what we have on paper: A Kung Fu action movie with fantasy elements, where the writer/producer/director and the main character is a newcomer to this business, a black rapper RZA who just likes Kung Fu ( at the same time, all the most difficult things in battles will be done for him by an understudy).

The conclusion about trash suggests itself, because... everything looks like the games of a little boy who grew up on all sorts of fairy tales about Kung Fu and, having acquired money.... decided to realize his dreams and, at least in the movies, become a Kung Fu master who kills all enemies left and right.

There have been test screenings and the first review has appeared. It says the choreography is great, the fights are great, and there are a few funny moments. Some, however, complained about the music; they wanted something Asian, not rap.

I'm wondering... will the film be complete trash or will there be at least something I can watch?

Well done RZA. Who would have thought 20 years ago that a crazy nigga from the Bronx would make such a dream project with such a cast. Even cooler than Sharlto Copley, who adored Murdoch since childhood and still played him after more than 25 years, a day off compared to Riza.
