Film "Fight from Within" (The Fight Within) is an MMA drama written by a working preacher Jim Davis. He also produced the film, giving the director's chair to the debutant Michael William Gordon.

The film tells the story of rising mixed martial arts star Logan Chandler, who, after the death of his father, is an MMA champion, who leaves the ring due to disagreements with himself. In search of himself, Logan finds a deeply religious woman and begins an affair with her. The former fighter strives to overcome the past and create a new life, but a local MMA star does not leave the young guy alone, challenging him to one last fight.

Starring: John Major Davis, Lely Symington, Matt Leddo, Mike Taylor and UFC fighters Dan Severn и Wesley Williams.

The next film, which is a boxing drama in genre, is based on real events and has the title "Bleed for it" (Bleed For This) - in Russian box office "Pasmanian Devil". This is the director's project Ben Younger, which was a hit "Boiler room" with Vin Diesel and Ben Affleck back in 2000.

The film will follow a young boxer from Providence, Vinnie, nicknamed The Devil Pazmanian, who rose to worldwide fame after defeating two world champions. However, his path was interrupted by a car accident, as a result of which Vinnie injured his spine. Despite the fact that the doctors convinced the guy that he would never walk, Vinny does not give up and begins intensive training with an elderly trainer named Kevin.

The main role in the film was played by a young actor who was losing hope. Miles Teller (Devergent franchise, Whiplash), and the role of coach and mentor went to Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight by Christopher Nolan). In other roles Katey Sagal (TV series "Executioner"), Ted Levine ("Shutter Island"), Christina Evangelista (TV series “The Walking Dead”) and others.

Now let's turn our attention to Russian cinema. The movie trailer was recently released "Sparta" с Nikolai Kudryashov starring. This sports drama is the directorial debut of Kudryashov (“Razdolbay”, “Oil Painting”).

Synopsis: among the sports bohemia, the so-called Sparta has become especially popular - a fight in a rectangular ring, where two teams of fighters take turns against each other as one person is eliminated. For former MMA champion Nikolai, participation in Sparta is the only opportunity to get back into the sport after he served three years behind bars. And despite the fact that Nikolai is actively helped by his friends, the fighter will have to put his life on the line in order to solve his life problems once and for all.

In addition to Kudryashov, the cast includes not the last people of modern Russian cinema: Denis Nikiforov (TV series “Molodezhka”), Jan Tzapnik ("Election Day 2"), Vladimir Epifantsev (“Generation P”), Maxim Konovalov (TV series “Never Let Me Go”) and others.

Thanks to the company "Karoprokat", the film will be released in domestic cinemas 25 of August.


In 2016, Russian viewers have already seen such sports dramas as "Creed" with Sylvester Stallone and "The Challenger" with Michael Clarke Duncan, filmed a little earlier. Add movies with uncertain release dates to the list ("Unbroken", "Butterfly Defense", "Sultan", as well as projects such as Bitchfight Cynthia Rothrock and Highness Carly Rose), and we will get a whole list of sports dramas that flooded 2016 and will still be heard in 2017. And we certainly haven’t talked about all the films.
