I also liked God's Move, although it's a Hollywood ending, the knife fights are beautiful

I was wrong, not Fist of Fury, but Fist of Legend 2013, about an MMA tournament where amateurs compete against professionals.

Merey, what kind of movie is “Fist of Fury”, is it Korean? I can't find any information about him

Speaking of Korean: on sites with Russian subtitles there is “The Move of God” (so, in my opinion) about the criminal world of Go players, with brutal fights in the style of “Oldboy”. I also like the Korean thriller about police surveillance - "Cold Eyes" or "Surveillance", I suspect that the Americans will buy the rights (or maybe not, who knows...

I was surprised at the time by the film Memories of Murder. It seems like a slow, drawn-out film, but here there are several jump shots a la Liu Kang. So Koreans can surprise you completely unexpectedly. On the other hand, specially filmed fights (as in the films The Kick, Fist of Fury) sometimes are not impressive. As for the Beast, this is certainly not a masterpiece, but it is clear that the choreographer worked.

If you need fights, then the best Korean ones in this genre are City of Violence and The Beast, not counting Man from Nowhere.

This comment is why I watched "The Beast"... such bullshit!!!! Apart from the idea, I didn’t like anything else. The plot intrigued me, but it was not fully revealed. The first fight occurs half an hour into the film, and the fights themselves are uninteresting and even the camera is shaky! PPC, and the blows of the skinny head. the hero is literally demolished by all his opponents, but in the end (!) his power has no effect on the villain......... as if a child is attacking him, but he has no help..... Damn it! in this film, even the light (!) let us down.... the main characters are sitting in a car, their bodies are visible, and their faces are covered by shadow!..... ugh, I don’t want to talk more about this “masterpiece”

In the city of violence, at the end they started to mess around in fights...uninteresting and monotonous. Maybe the final editing is to blame, but that's entirely my opinion.

The Suspect is a clone of the Korean films Secret Mission and Spies. If you need fights, then the best Korean ones in this genre are City of Violence and The Beast, not counting Man from Nowhere. In terms of car chases - Fast and Fugitive.

I recommend “3 Days to Kill”, I’m going to watch it again now)) But Costner was 58 years old at the time of filming (!), and also a film with humor))

I don't like Costner. Well, maybe I’ll get over myself and take a look)

    Wow...I wouldn't give him more than 45.

I just watched "Target"....I didn't like it. There's not much action, and it's not particularly well shot. After an hour of the film, I started rewinding because I lost interest. In short, for me, it’s a passerby.

    I haven’t watched “3 Days to Kill”, so I can’t say anything)

By the way, it's a good movie. Costner plays excellently, as always, there is a good showdown in the toilet with rapists, and I can’t express in words how cute the main character’s daughter is)

By the way, in my opinion no one mentioned the Korean new releases of the current year, but “The Suspect” and “The Man Who Cried” are really nothing.

I don't know, I didn't really like Suspicious, especially compared to Nowhere Man. Particularly infuriating was the constant, incomprehensible music that was out of place. Well, I'm not talking about the camera. The recently released “The Crying Killer” from the director of “Man” is quite at the level of his previous work: light, plans, camera work, plot, charismatic characters - it’s all present. There's even a hellish stabbing scene))

Ehh....I thought there would be a movie, at least on the level of "3 Days to Kill" with Costner...oh well, then I'll watch the Korean "Target".

Ravenside, is it worth watching “The November Man” at all? Honestly, I was very skeptical about the trailer, and I’m not a fan of Brosnan. But the screenshots of the film, with a naked female body, are captivating)) In short, should I watch it or not?

Not worth it, boring Russophobic cranberry.

I watched "The Suspect". Fans of actual fights will be disappointed by the film, because we all have unloved editing, the camera shakes, Bourne style, etc., but I’m used to the Korean style, so I’m learning it well, because I’m not watching for the fights.
But that’s not the point... if we abstract from this, then here we have another example of how to shoot. Damn, the way the Koreans build sound, light, composition and plans is simply phenomenal. What is the picture quality? How they work with drama, with close-ups, with scenery, especially with color. What costumes do the heroes have? What music. This is perfect speed, of course. In this regard, South Korea is simply on another planet. It's not even a cut above Hollywood, it's just another planet.

Here's an example: The November Man has just been released - an action thriller with chases and about spies, like The Usual Suspect. Pierce Brosnan is starring there. There is crossover in thematics, there is crossover in drama and so on, both films consist of escapes and chases. But, compared to the South Korean film, the American craft is simply stone age.

This is correctly noted, in “Target” they went the way of “Nowhere Man”, at least you can make out who is doing what, but in “Suspect” they got carried away with close combat and really reminds “Hostage”. By the way, how does anyone like the trailer for “Taken 3”?

    Author's gravatar

By the way, I also downloaded “Target”, I’ll watch it sometime. I looked at the fights a little while rewinding, and they are clearly better than in the same “Suspect”.

Maybe Ravenside will be disappointed, but I’ll say right away, the editing is like in the second Hostage with Neeson, nothing is clear in terms of battles.

"Suspect" downloaded a few days ago until I got around to it.

Everything is great when there is no action! Absolutely amazing filming!!!
But as soon as the action begins, all hell breaks loose! And the interiors are very watchable. Well, what's wrong...?

    Author's gravatar

I don't understand the trailer, but I'll definitely watch the Koreans)))
Oh, and the music is cool, and they play well.
The only thing is that the game is for the amusement of rich people... it’s not very original.

The film is already online with translation, if anyone is interested.
