Trailer for the action movie Ninja: Shadow of a Tear (Ninja 2)

[ADKINS MESSAGE ADDED (UPDATED)]

Fight everyone and trust no one: this is the law of survival that martial arts expert Casey Bowman has adhered to since his happy family life was destroyed by a brutal act of violence. Vowing revenge, the fearless American, with the help of a wise and resourceful sensei, secretly tracks the killer's movements from Osaka to Bangkok, and then to Rangoon. He has only one clue - all the victims have a clear sign of strangulation on their necks with barbed wire. Fighting for revenge as well as survival, Casey must develop his refined reactions, take his fighting skills to the next level, and, moreover, resort to deep meditation in order to fake his own death. His target is the sinister drug lord Goro, who has flooded the streets with deadly methamphetamine manufactured in his remote jungle factory. To prepare for the final confrontation, Casey must finally transform into an invisible warrior worthy of the name “ninja.” And now the prey is driven into a corner, but then an unexpected turn of events convinces Casey that his battle is just beginning: he can’t trust anyone anymore.

Thanks for the link Celpaso

Scott Adkins:

“People say they don’t want Ninja, but Boyka - do me a favor - don’t download Ninja 2 illegally, if it pays off, the producers will make a film about Boyka.”

...

“Last evening we had a wonderful conversation with the producer about Boyka’s future adventures. Don’t forget to all unanimously support Ninja 2 after its release, and Boyka will return.”

kl gangster 2 is already on English-language torrents. I watched it a long time ago)

    Author's gravatar

In general, nothing new is shown... I would like hand-to-hand combat from Kosugi and Tim Man.

One of the most anticipated action games! Along with TYAG2, Special ID, I was also very intrigued by the KL Gangster 2 trailer.

PS Adkins' jumping and running give hope for the presence of parkour in the film)

Naturally, I'm only waiting for TYAG2. The rest has already been seen a hundred thousand times. Only the Thais give out something new every time or old blows from new “angles”. All hope lies with the Thais. I am not confused by: graphics, cables, elephants. The main thing is that the direction (there are big doubts after Kika, but it was half a Korean project) should be at least at the level of TYAG1. There hasn't been a trailer for TYAG2 yet, so I can't compare based on trailers. Let's wait for the trailer. Let's watch all the films. Let's see in general :) .....

Perhaps, from what is coming out in the near future, these are the 3 most anticipated films among fighting game fans. It’s interesting that despite the common genre, these are films for different tastes. Personally, I'm still looking forward to Special ID the most. To the least extent - the release with Jaa.

    On the subject:

I really liked the trailer. Many times better than the trailer for the first part (although concerns still remain, because the first part was too... nothing compared to Undisputed). The plot is standard, but adequate (unlike the first part with their Fellowship of the Ring =) and the gloominess only benefited both the film and the character Scott (he won’t swing, but will immediately start killing everyone). The location and the picture are pleasing: Burma, filmed in Thailand, looks much better than New York, filmed in Bulgaria. There were three things I liked about the fights; I’m not talking about the camera work, because... Clarkson shoots consistently...very well: with Thai stuntmen, famous for their strength, new punches (and for Scott to fight in the city against several is a rarity, so this is also included in the concept of “new punches”) and their crowns, which people are already missing us (we haven’t seen Scott’s guyver kick for 3 years and 5 films =)

Compared to the trailers for other fighting games this fall: Tom Yum Gunga 2 with Tony Jaaand Special ID with Donny.

The Ninja trailer wins over the Jah trailer, because... although a SMALLER scale of what is happening is visible (this was initially clear), but still... these elephants again, a secret organization with masters of hand-to-hand combat, Jha has somehow aged or something, well, my personal opinion... with a count -mopeds were sorted out =) + graphics and cables appeared in Jah's stunts. This sharply reduced the level of anticipation, as did the impression of the video itself.

In the FIRST trailer of Special ID, the Ninja trailer wins in terms of dynamics and... English that I understand =D But it loses to the trailer and teaser from the filming, because... Although ropes are used in several moments in Donny, he has the scale that Tom Yum Gung has, while the plot is adequate and of course Donny’s super-duper-cool fighting style is again in the frame, which I have not seen on the screen for 6 years.... .all these advantages...decide. =)

In short: we are waiting for everything and will look at everything with pleasure =)

Maybe I don’t understand something, but why can’t I raise money for “Undisputed 4” through Kickstarter? Who's stopping or what?

The idea is interesting, BUT one of the possible problems. They do not have the rights to Boyka or the Undisputed franchise. They may have a script, an approximate cast, etc., BUT if New Image does not give permission for the action, then there is ZERO sense in it. Let’s say: they organized a promotion, raised money, promised posters and other crap for an investment of $25 or more (as they like to do on Kickstarter), and New Image stupidly disagrees with such promises and it turns out that Scott and Isaac deceived the fans.

    Author's gravatar

Maybe the studio won’t put so much pressure.

    Author's gravatar

Damn, he can really download ninja for money, otherwise "Give Boyka"
And yes, it looks like Adkins really is the best movie fighter now... and maybe in general)))

Did you really expect something new from Florentine and Adkins? IMHO, Florentine has been making the same long film for 15 years. Strong and competent, but one and the same. Such a “down-to-earth” film, lacking stars from the sky. Of all the films, perhaps only “Savat” stood out for its different plot, aesthetics and fighting game. Ninja 2 is just one opportunity to see Scott in action. But not more. Although, when compared with most figures in this genre, Florentine and Adkins are certainly cool.

    Author's gravatar

And of course, at Scott's request, I will buy it for support. But damn, if Isaac and Scott also continue the principle “why change anything, people are eating it anyway,” then it’s time to stop Scott and Isaac. I’m afraid to imagine what will happen to Boyka with this approach. It’s clear that Boyka in the image of Scott is mega-textured and spectacular, and despite all the monotony of the fights, this can be forgiven. But in ninja - I don’t even know, only for give-hard fan.

    Author's gravatar

By the way, yes. It seems good, but it seems everything is the same. Well, here's Scott kicking in slow motion, here's a spinner in a familiar angle + 5-6 variations of the same thing, only in different scenery. It feels like Larnell never left, and Isaac has been perfecting his formula for 5 years now. Nothing has changed, NOTHING.

    Author's gravatar

but also with original ideas, with a bright and fresh head, with the ability to experiment.

    Author's gravatar

The film promises to be just good. No more. We won’t see anything new from Scott and Florentine in the fights. Everything is the same as in previous works, only the scenery changes) And, to be honest, the low budget is very noticeable.

    Author's gravatar

Not only with experience and experience, but also with original ideas, with a bright and fresh head, with the ability to experiment. Seniority and experience can sometimes drag you down and play a cruel joke.

    Author's gravatar

On the plus side, I would like to add that compared to the first part, the fights have become much less “snotty” and more productive. Tougher, clearly faster. This is nice to see. But my opinion is that from so many stuntmen who know martial arts, you can squeeze out several times more! Apparently this is Tim Man’s first serious experience staging fights =(
In my opinion, it is imperative to invite directors with extensive work experience to such projects.

    Author's gravatar

What can I say, I’ve been waiting for this trailer for a long time. The stunt work was done seriously, it’s clear that the work is done by professionals. But the ingenuity and dynamics of the battle scenes (based on the notes of the trailer) did not impress me at all. When compared with Tom Yum Goong 2, the ninja is very inferior. And the latest Indian films put a completely different level of action in action films. Ninja: Shadow of a Tear evokes the feeling of a good acting demo without frills to further promote oneself. And as they say, we’ll see, we’re waiting for the movie)

    Author's gravatar

EvilDollaR, well, that’s basically what I thought. But in the trailer, by the way, this is briefly shown. And I'm also afraid that in general Kane won't be developed well in the action. Florentine always makes sure Adkins is in a convincingly winning position on screen.

    Author's gravatar

Celpaso, the main thing is that producers and film studios notice this. Nothing in Adkins’ fate will change from my divine all-noticing eye))

    =D

    Author's gravatar

And which one? Although I suspect that we are thinking about the same thing..))

Frank De Martini wrote that Kane plays the role of Casey's mentor, but I suspect that the words are from the plot

    POSSIBLE SPOILER!!!:

An unexpected turn of events convinces Casey that his battle has only just begun: he can't trust anyone anymore.

relate precisely to the betrayal of his character.

    Author's gravatar

But I note that he is trying more and more.

Well, at least I noticed it, it makes me happy =)

    Author's gravatar

Scott himself criticizes the first film, including his acting.

))) IMHO, it's Scott's usual standard game. He shows this in every film. But I note that he is trying more and more.

    Author's gravatar

I still can’t figure out whether I was watching some other “Ninja”, or whether the first “Ninja” was really a crappy action movie and a so-so film.

Scott himself criticizes the first film, including his acting. So there’s nothing surprising in this (average ratings from viewers), the producers “slightly” ruined the film.

However, an interesting fact... Ninja paid off better than Undisputed 3, although the criticism of Undisputed is many times better, therefore New Image was given money for the second part of Ninja, and not for the fourth of Undisputed.

    Author's gravatar

I have one guess why it is not shown much...

And which one? Although I suspect that we are thinking about the same thing..))

    Author's gravatar

Didn't catch on. I didn't see anything new in the trailer.

    Author's gravatar

mmm...who knows the budget of the film?

    Author's gravatar

I didn’t really see Kane Kosugi in action in the trailer, but I really did. I would like to…

I have one guess why he is not shown so much...

    Author's gravatar

Sly Adkins in circulation)). Alas, I didn’t really see Kane Kosugi in action in the trailer, but very... I would like... But in general, even though we’ve seen it all a hundred times already, the trailer is dynamic, genre-bending, Adkins is at ease there, in his element. Only the picture is kind of dark. Or is my contrast so low on Monica?

With your permission, I will add a link to Kinopoisk, otherwise they have no information there, it’s a disgrace.
