So Sakaguchi returns to the cinema for filming in the film "Re:Born"

So Sakaguchi - one of the most famous action heroes in modern Japanese cinema. He has a lot of both good and not very high-quality films under his belt. However, his career in his homeland was not very successful, which did not stop Tak from gaining thousands of fans around the world. Despite its popularity, in 2013, immediately after filming Sion Sono's film "Why don't you play with me in Hell?", So Sakaguchi announced that he was leaving cinema. The actor wanted to focus on directing and producing work, as well as training young stuntmen.

But, as they say, less than a year has passed, and information has appeared about Tak’s return to the set. Yes, not in some trash project, which he “sinned” at the end of his career, but in the main role of a major action film directed by Yuji Shimomura. It's not surprising that Tak accepted his old friend's offer - it was thanks to his film "Death Trance"(2005), the name Taka Sakaguchi became known throughout the world.

New project Shimomura received the name "Re:Born". Active PR began for Taka Sakaguchi's return to cinema. In the summer of 2014, "video reports" about Taka's sports training began to appear online, as well as about the stunt elements being developed, in which stuntmen from Sakaguchi's team took part. What is noteworthy is that the training took place under the guidance of renowned martial arts expert and special forces instructor Yoshitaka Inagawa. The release date was brightly replete with the figure 2015, but, as often happens in such cases, the project quickly died out due to lack of funding.

Only in the spring of this year did information about the upcoming action film of the famous duo begin to appear again. The plot of the film tells the story of the confrontation between former special forces soldier Toshiro and armed scoundrels of unknown origin. There is no official synopsis yet. It is known that Tak himself took an active part in writing the script.

In addition to Taka Sakaguchi, who, apparently for simplicity, shortened his stage name to YES, are starring in the film Otsuka Ishida, Issei Saito, Takumi Shinoda, Mariko Hasebe and others.

Judging by the photos from the set, we can expect not only a “city” but also a “forest” action movie about a tough special forces soldier. I would like to believe that the film will indeed turn out to be a good piece of work, the disc of which can be placed on the same shelf as “Deadly Trance.” After all, the name Yuji Shimomura is always a sign of quality action. He is responsible for staging action and stunt scenes in such well-known films as "Alien from the future"with Takeshi Kaneshiro,"Moonchild"with Kamui Gackt,"The Way of the Warrior"with Jang Dong Gun,"Hot spot"with Donnie Yen and"Shinobi"with the same Tak Sakaguchi. Participation in the project also warms the soul Yoshitaka Inagawa. And SO, if he wants, he can always rehabilitate himself in the eyes of fans, after a series of failed trash films and chaotic TV series. We can only wait and believe that the film "RE:Born"will be released on big screens in 2016, as the creators promise.

VERSUS1

It is worth adding: Sakaguchi himself said in one of his interviews that participation in this project is an exception that he allowed himself to make for the sake of his long-standing friendship with Shimomura, and that immediately after the end of the rental, he will return to his “retirement”. And we would believe it if it weren’t for active rumors that another old friend of Taka’s, who opened the door to the cinema for him - Ryuhei Kitamura, is eager to see Sakaguchi in the zombie action sequel"Противостояние", in which he made his debut 15 years ago.

Once again you confirm that you are the best movie resource for me. Sakaguchi has been my favorite Japanese actor for a decade now, and after Why Don't You Play With Me in Hell? he disappeared from sight, and I didn’t even know that he had decided to leave his acting career. And here is such good news.
