Filming of “Great Masters” has been suspended

Apparently, the filming of the highly anticipated film by Wong Kar Wai “Great Masters” (The Grandmasters) were suspended. After two years of production, it seemed that the film was about to be completed, but apparently Kar Waya some elements were not satisfactory, and it took him time to put everything in its place.

Actor Tony Leung confirmed the information that during the break he will work in the film Derek Yee "The Great Magician" (Great Magician), a contract he signed over a year ago. At that time, he decided to postpone filming the project and devote all his free time to working on "Great Masters". "The Great Magician", the plot of which is based on the work Stephen Millhauser “Eisenheim the Illusionist” (The Illusionist Eisenheim), is a historical drama. Partners Tony Luna on the set there will be Zhou Xun (replacing Cecilia Chun) and Lau Chin Wan.

According to some reports, the actress Song Hye Kyo In December 2010, she also left the set. There were rumors that she had an important role, and after only appearing in some episodes, she might eventually return back. However Wong Kar Wai admitted that he doesn’t know how to “insert” Song Hye Kyo into the film, and her role, like several others, may have to be eliminated.

    Eisenheim the Illusionist was already filmed in 2006 with Edward Norton, and it was filmed beautifully. What are they filming now? If the remake is without kung fu, but simply made according to Chinese realities and even with Tony Leung, then it should be interesting.
