New trailer for the comedy Welcome to the Jungle with JCVD

Judging by the trailer, it turned out to be a good comedy, mainly thanks to Van Damme. The film will be released in cinemas and VOD February 7, 2014.

That’s right - I wrote a “script in the spirit of the 90s” :) With all their inherent stupidity :)

Apart from the traditional stupidity, such as the fact that the pursuers are necessarily separated and given the opportunity to kill them one by one, or that no one ever checks whether the enemy is really dead, and so on, there is a lot of this stupidity - so, apart from that, the film in general, it’s really worth looking at. Well, the fights are not outstanding, but at least they are realistic. Van Damme never even did the splits. He plays like a scumbag, he overacts in my opinion. But the rest don't play at all.

Yes, Vanya often began to play the bad guy. Previously, I played categorically positive heroes.

Enemies Closer surprisingly wasn't completely crap. And there is even a script, albeit in the traditions of the 90s. Moreover, the fights are well choreographed and have elements of MMA, which is doubly pleasant :) I recommend it as a time for viewing.

Even at the very beginning of his career, he refused to star in “No Retreat, No Surrender 2”! They took Matthias Hughes instead, and the film itself still looks good!

Is it true? That was stupid!

As far as I remember, in those days Van Damme considered any sequel beneath his dignity and refused to star in them. Only when his popularity began to evaporate did he deign to star in the sequel to Universal Soldier.

In those days, all the films I mentioned above would have been successful with sequels. Jean was very popular at that time. I remember all of this. My black and white TV was covered with these stickers (and with Arnie, Sly, Steven, Dolph, Jackie, Jet) from Cyborg, Target, Unisol, KrovSport, Kick-er, etc.

I wonder why all the potential franchises with Van Damme (which could continue to this day like Rocky and Rambo), Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Cyborg, Time Patrol, all turned into cheap series with different actors?

But who the hell knows. Now it’s clear why they don’t make sequels....it’s a bit late + the originals are not as successful as, for example, Rocky/Rambo/Terminator.

But in those days... it’s not clear why they stuck with Unisol for so long (7 years), why the sequel to Bloodsport came out only 10 years after the original and without Jean, why they started talking about a sequel to Double Impact only...3 years ago .

Producers don't want to take risks.

But Bernhard has “his own face.”

And not the worst thing =D

I agree about Daniel and I will say moreover, if Gary was similar in type to Jean (a muscular European with a split), then Daniel in the Bloodsport sequels was specially made a COPY of Jean (poses, screams, blows), which had a negative impact on his career, of course same.

Oha, that's exactly what I meant. But Bernhard has “his own face.”

Another thing is that Daniel now has small roles (or even cameos), but projects include Parker, The Hungger Games 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Vatican Tapes from the director of Adrenaline with Statham and John Wick with Keanu Reeves and William Deffoe. This is very pleasing (it’s much better than no films at all or filming in category G films).

Daniel Bernhardt is an exact replica of Van Damme. And category B from the beginning of their careers.

Daniel Bernhardt got the genre wrong. And he, by the way, was already quite self-sufficient as a model before getting into the “cinema”. He was simply deliberately used and exploited as a copy of Van Damme. But he is far from incompetent, he just had to look for his face not entirely in action. And his negative characters turn out to be much more colorful than the positive heroes.

Van Damme is old school. He is my hero. To be honest, I don’t like comparing the action of BI heroes. Each has its own peculiarity. Steven and Jean-Claude (young) have very different fighting styles. Maybe that's why they became stars? Everyone has their own place. Gary Daniels and Daniel Bernhardt are carbon copies of Van Damme. And category B from the beginning of their careers.

Or maybe he just doesn’t agree with Wave’s opinion?))

Restored. He didn't like the word "controversial." :)

    Author's gravatar

The comment was swallowed by antispam. In general, the one who pleases the most among the young people in fights is old man Donnie Yen)))

    Author's gravatar

As for flickering, it’s debatable. When the same Iko Uwais fights, it seems that at the same time he is fighting, he is brushing aside a swarm of bees. But at the same time, his fights look super technical and effective. When Donnie Yen flashes in “Special ID”, you can again see a good backyard school (for which I really respect Donnie - he can fight in any style from classic kung fu to backyard mma and at the same time looks absolutely authentic). But Van Damme in the old films did not portray anything other than show off the splits. And only recently, in very selected examples such as the third “Unisol”, it began to show combat.

    Author's gravatar

True, I don’t expect anything outstanding in the fights, but the films themselves may well please.

Nowadays, in my opinion, few of the “young people” can do anything to please them in fights)) Van Damme still looks quite good against the backdrop of all the numerous modern UGs. As a rule, he doesn’t have any flickering.

and Welcome to the Jungle and Enemies Closer are on the expected list) It’s a paradox, but Van Damme currently doesn’t seem like yesterday to me, but in a sense becomes a breath of fresh air. And he is more honest as an actor than the same Willis in his latest films like RED 2 or Die Hard 5.

Yeah! Surprisingly, I have the same thoughts. True, I don’t expect anything outstanding in the fights, but the films themselves may well please.
