Marko Zaror. Biography and filmography

Marco Zaror, Chilean actor and martial artist, was born on June 10, 1978 in Santiago. His mother and father are Fernando Zaror and Gina Aguad.

Sarora's mother, being a karate instructor, inspired her son, and he began to practice martial arts from an early age. As an adult, he easily achieved second dan in karate and taekwondo.

When he turned 18, he moved to Mexico City and began working in the modeling business, being the “calling card” of such famous brands as Hugo Boss and Valentino. While living in Mexico City, Marco began acting in low-budget films. This provided him with a scholarship while studying at the capital's prestigious Center for Art Education (CEA).

Despite his successful career, Marco did not lose interest in martial arts. Training with his friend Roberto Perez, a four-time world champion, he put in his best effort and won first place at the Mexico City Open. In 1999, in hopes of further developing his career, Saror moved to Los Angeles, California. In order to somehow stay afloat, he had to work as a waiter and dishwasher. But he did not despair and patiently waited for his chance.

And his talent was quickly noticed. Marco began to take part in numerous projects. One of these was the Spanish science documentary “Tae Bo”. Then he got a role in the film “Iron Men” (Hard as Nails). He then went on to star in Into the Flames and Chinango/El Medallon, the first Latin American martial arts films, which he also executive produced.

A meeting in the gym with guru Andy Cheng became a turning point in his career - he was invited to play the role of a stunt double for the world wrestling star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, in the action movie “Treasure of the Amazon” (The Rundown / Welcome to the Jungle).

The demand for Latin American films was increasing, and Marco decided to take part in a low-budget film by Ernesto Diaz called “The Executioner” (El Tronador -2005), the first project of Mandrill Films. Together with Ernesto Diaz Espinoza and Derek Randall, the Chilean action film “Kiltro” (Chained Dog) was filmed.

Critics consider one of Marco Zarora's most successful roles to be his role in the film Mirageman, which made a great contribution to the development of Chilean cinema. In addition to third place in the list of best Latin American films and awards at Fantastic Fest in Austin and the Valdivia Film Festival, the film received worldwide recognition.

Trailer for the future project "Mandrill" (Mandrill) by Ernesto Diaz Espinosa and Marco Zarora was screened at the 2009 Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas.

In the action movie “Undisputed 3” (Undisputed 3), shot in the Bulgarian capital, the action of which will take place in one of the prisons, Marko Zaror got the role of a dangerous Colombian prisoner with the nickname “Pain” (Dolor).

“We didn’t want my character to be just a bandit. So we added a little irony and craziness to his character. Ultimately, we ended up with a sort of charming villain,” explained Marko Zaror.
