Another tough round for Jaa

Please note that some facts from the article below are not yet 100% confirmed.

Coping with fame isn't as easy as beating the crap out of movie villains, and as it turns out, action hero Thatchakorn "Tony Jaa" Yirum finds that out time and time again.

For a boy from the hinterland, peace has become a rarity since he became a superstar.

A few years ago, Jaa was given his first opportunity to direct the films Ong Bak 2 and Ong Bak 3, and ended up hiding from the world for several weeks. Suddenly, he disappeared from the set and no one knew where he was, including the irritated producer Somsak Techarattanaprasert. Ultimately, the makers had to rope in Prachya Pinkaya and Pannu Rittikrai to help Jaa complete the project.

And then last week, something like déjà vu happened, although it was preceded by a whole series of good news - a beautiful wedding, then the joyful birth of a daughter, an almost completed film with Prachya and "Jija" by Janine Vismitananda, and his first foreign project with his old partner in "Ong-Baku" by Pettai Wongkamlao and Belgian action hero Jean-Claude Van Damme. Jaa was even given the director's chair in another action movie.

Suddenly his father appears on television and says that for three months he has not maintained any contact with Jaa, and his son no longer sends money home. The father believed that Jaa's wife was behind all this. Bungai, Jaa's wife, objected, saying that this was not the case. In fact, the culprit is Jaa's sister and her husband, who are taking advantage of him, said Bungai, who quarreled with her sister-in-law and brother-in-law at her wedding in May last year.

The verbal spat continues, while Jaa himself clearly stays away from it all.

Somsak Techarattanaprasert assured that Jaa has not lost his affection for his father. “I told his father many times that he should just let Jaa live his own life. Now he has his own family to feed, and he is no longer a child,” said the producer.

A few days ago, Jaa went to Wat Traimithr Vittayaram to get blessings for the shooting of a new film in which he will not only be a director, but also an actor. Journalists were not allowed close, so we can only guess what the film is about. It looks like it's another action movie with fights as his mentor Panna and actress/director Julaluk Ismalone of "Fighting Fish" fame were also present at the ceremony.

Apparently, the first thing everyone is doing is waiting for these family shackles to fall away.

But if I could combine 2 and 3 into one, it would be a masterpiece.......

    But 3 is a failure!

I agree, but the final swing is mega cool.........

OB 2 and 3. In the second, except for the final mahacha, everything is boring and not interesting.

I hope at least for this, in Jha’s last films even the fights weren’t interesting to watch.

What are the last ones? OB3 - it’s clear, what others? OB2?!

Once again there will be a film where you can only watch fights. Info 100%

In any case, the first foreign project is another film, besides TYAG2 and a new film with Jaa as a director and actor, as I understand it.

      That's what I understood too.

This is just a listing. It's difficult to say whether this has happened or will happen.

    Thanks for the translation.
"and his first foreign project together with his old partner in Ong-Bak Pettai Vongkamlao and the Belgian action hero Jean-Claude Van Damme. Jaa was even given the director's chair in another action movie."
Hmm, it turns out Jaa played in one more film besides TYAG2.
