Will Yun Lee, Hugh Jackman and James Mangold talk about fighting in The Wolverine

Will Yun Lee: I watched clips from the movie where Hugh fights with various characters, he's not to be trifled with! Compared to all the X-Men movies, he's probably in the best physical shape right now.

Hugh Jackman: The fighting style in this film is very specific, Japanese. The 87Eleven stunt team is probably the best in the business. During training, they beat me all day long, and I went home, barely dragging my feet! Since we were dealing with weapons like Wolverine's swords and claws, even considering that they are not real, the chances of getting injured or getting hit in the eye were very high... I thought, God, just not to be careless.

James Mangold: ...I want the film to have tension. I don't want it to look like just a CGI show...

Hugh Jackman: I'm thrilled that the studio called the film "Wolverine" rather than "X-Men: Wolverine 2" because we're trying to present it as a standalone movie. The atmosphere is different from other X-Men films. It features large-scale battles, which people are waiting for, and it should be interesting. But this is a character-driven film. It's about a man who feels out of place, everything in this world is alien to him, and the point is how he deals with it. I think we have the opportunity to show Wolverine as badass as everyone wants him to be.

According to the director, debut teaser "Wolverines" due out March 26th. The day before, a “teaser teaser” will appear. The film will premiere on July 26, 2013.

Well, they have fun there. And Hugh is generally a funny guy!
As for these situations, everything rather depends on the actor’s desire to play this or that character!
Alain Delon once said that for the sake of his little son he played BLACK TULIP and ZORRO with complete dedication! And in BLACK TULIP the tricks are not weak! And I consider ZORRO (1975) the best film about this hero!
    The main thing is motivation!
And Hugh is really great! I noticed that there is not a single bad film with him!

I look at some JUST actors and understand that with their ACTING talent and with good production, they look cooler in battles than professional athletes.

Christian Bale in Equilibrium, Serebryakov in Fan, the same Hugh Jackman, who, even with not the best production, approaches the role with such dedication physically that you look at him.... and believe that he is a BEAST!!! I really hope that Hugh’s potential as Rosych will be revealed in this film.

PS Loco Pere laughed about Hugh, he said that Hugh was so keen on Wolverine that his stunt double had to quickly gain weight so as not to look much different from the actor... he drove Hugh the poor stuntman =)
