Trailers for the films "Memento", "Infinity" and "The Last Mercenary"

While the field of targeted hand-to-hand cinema is a bit empty in terms of news, let’s turn our attention to major Hollywood films in which sufficient time is allocated to action scenes.

Trailers for the films "Memento", "Infinity" and "The Last Mercenary"

The first in today's selection of trailers is a fantastic action movie "Memories" (Reminiscence) writer and director Lisa Joy (TV series “Black Mark”, “Dead on Call” and “Westworld”). Moreover, we have already mentioned about this project due to the fact that the film features a Chinese martial artist and actor Daniel Wu.

Synopsis: in the near future, Miami has almost completely gone under water due to global warming. Private detective Nick Bannister, using special technology, searches for the right moments in human memory so that the client can relive the past and remember something important. One day, a client appears on the threshold of his office with a simple request: she forgot where she left her keys. An ordinary session turns into a full-fledged romance, until one day the woman disappears without a trace.

The central role went to a Hollywood star Hugh Jackman (the X-Men, Wolverine franchises), and the rest of the cast, in addition to Daniela Wu (series “In the Desert of Death”) fill: Rebecca Ferguson ("The Greatest Showman") Thandiwe Newton (TV series "Westworld") Cliff Curtis ("Die Hard 4.0"), Angela Sarafyan (TV series “Westworld”) and others.

Judging by the trailer, we are waiting for a fantastic detective neo-noir with a dash of action. I'm glad that Daniel Wu, obviously takes part in the action scenes. But fans of the combat film genre are unlikely to be pleased with hand-to-hand combat. In the cast we also found the name of a French martial artist, stuntman and actor Tony Waugh.

20 of August "Memories" will appear in American box office and on the site HBO Max, and the theatrical premiere in Russia is scheduled for 26 August 2021 year.

Again Hollywood and again a fantastic action movie. This time we will talk about a film called "Infinity" (Infinite).

A venerable director is at the helm of the project Antoine Fuqua, famous for the duology "The Great Equalizer" (2014, 2018), remake "The Magnificent Seven" (2016), drama "My name is Mohammed Ali" (2019) and an award-winning crime thriller "Training Day" (2001). And the main role went to Mark Wahlberg, with whom Fuqua has already worked together on an action drama "Shooter" (2007)

Synopsis: Evan Michaels suffers from an unusual illness: he remembers in detail everything that happened to him in two past lives. In search of answers, Evan stumbles upon an ancient secret society called Cognomina, whose members, like him, remember their past lives. Familiar with history firsthand, they have been controlling the development of mankind for centuries, directing it in the right direction. Evan understands that he is obliged to join the ranks of Cognomina.

Company Mark Wahlberg (“The Departed”, “Fighter”, “Mile 22”) were: Jason Mantzoukas ("John Wick 3"), Sophie Cookson ("Kingsman: The Secret Service") Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 years of slavery"), Dylan O'Brien (“Mercenary”) and others.

Responsible for combat choreography in hand-to-hand combat Liang Yang, who worked in this position on films such as “Rogue One. Star Wars Tales" (2016) "Pacific Rim 2" (2018) "Mission Impossible: Fallout" (2018) "Saaho" (2019) and many others. Of the familiar stuntmen in the film, we identified Brand Musashi, Jimmy choo и George Kirby.

"Infinity" will appear on the new streaming platform Paramount + June 10, and the action film will go to Russian cinemas 9 September 2021 years.

Let's finish today's not-so-hand-to-hand selection with a trailer for a new film starring the legend of combat cinema Jean-Claude Van Damme starring.

We're talking about an action-comedy for the streaming giant. Netflix called "The Last Mercenary" (The Last Mercenary), about which we have already mentioned. The project is helmed by a screenwriter and director David Sharon (“Jokes aside,” “Shipwreck Survivors”).

The plot will revolve around a mysterious former Secret Service agent who must return to his native country in order to help his son - he was framed and accused of illegal weapons trafficking and drug trafficking. Father and son consider all this to be the tricks of a major Ukrainian mafioso, whom the main character’s son once crossed.

Screen time old man JCVD (“Street Fighter”, “Lucas”) shared with a young French actor Samir Dekazza (TV series "Lawman"). The rest of the caste includes: Alban Ivanov (“Be friends in Russian”), Eric Judor (“We are legends”), Valerie Kaprisky (“Murder in La Rochelle”) and other actors.

date of release "The Last Mercenary" on Netflix - July 30, 2021.

The Last Mercenary is pretty funny. Van Damme somehow stopped appealing to me after I left adolescence. And basically his films over the last decade and a half have somehow left me more or less indifferent. But this one made me very happy.
