The film was previously shown in select movie theaters in Wisconsin, where Dispatched and filmed. However, problems arose with the release of the comedy on media and the release of the film was shelved.

"Assigned" is the story of police officer Jake, who, due to a failed assignment, is demoted, but instead of patrolling, he is assigned to the daughter of the chief of the station so that he can spy on her while she is on vacation with her boyfriend. However, Jake is unlucky here too - the disgraced official wants to take revenge on the policeman for putting his sons behind bars. Now the unfortunate cop will have to protect not only the boss’s daughter, but also himself.

The main role was played by Jarrod himself, and the rest of the cast lit up: Jonathan Aldrich ("Indie Boys") Eli Daniels ("Villains") Kevin Croak ("The Worm and the Poodle"), Puerto Rican action film actor Jose Manuel (“The Man from Kathmandu”) and others.

As we already said, the film can be seen on Amazon Prime. This action-comedy is unlikely to be released on media.

The next film that we want to talk about also might never have seen the light of day if not for certain circumstances. We're talking about a martial arts movie from South Africa called "One More Strike" (One More Shot), which was filmed back in 1984.

A film in the series of re-releases of classic African cinema from the company IndiePix Films Western distributors noticed thanks to the director's name Ronnie Isaacs (“Warriors from Hell”, “Captive by Night”, “Cobra Squad”), whose films often became hits in grindhouse cinemas in the USA during the late 80s and early 90s.

The film tells the story of the confrontation between former boxer Johnny and the famous criminal and human trafficker nicknamed Tenten, who is trying to involve the guy in another adventure.

Participated in the film Hector Raboti ("Cyborg Cop 2"), Dominic Tiawa ("Taxi to Soeto"), Joey Ford (“Specially after school”) and other actors.

The film was already made at that time as a kind of reference to C-action films from Hollywood like ninja crafts Godfrey Ho or exploitation films like "Ninja Fighters", which also miraculously reached the mass audience in our time.

Remastered version "One More Strike" coming to DVD 11 June 2019 year. Of course, now this film is of exclusively encyclopedic interest, but we couldn’t help but tell you about it.

We want to finish today’s already strange selection with an animation project called "Rise of the Last Dragon" (Rise Of The Last Dragon) from the studio WIARLAWD, which is working on a common animation series project funanimation.

Interestingly, the producers and creators of the future animated series are brothers Daeshonne and Fabienne Delong chose for their brainchild the plot of a cult film in narrow circles "The Last Dragon" director Michael Schultz with then still young Taimak starring. Moreover, the showrunners want to continue the story of the musical hand-to-hand action film.

At the moment, the project is not financed by major studios, but the authors are confident that they will be able to do everything on their own, even without resorting to crowdfunding. An announcement about the recruitment of voice actors has already appeared on the official website of the cartoon. It is known that the now deceased singer Vanity, who played one of the main roles in the original film and performed all the songs, is replaced by a singer Laura Charles, and I’m ready to play the main villain Samuel L. Jackson. Actors of the 1985 film Taimak и Glen Eaton will return to voicing their characters. By the way, Taimak himself is currently busy producing his own film "Master", which we mentioned earlier.

When the cartoon will be released and on what channel remains a mystery. Well, we just have to keep an eye on the project, which could become quite a replacement for the animated one "Black Dynamite".
