Fans of action cinema are mainly busy waiting for new interesting projects with their favorite actors of the genre (or don’t expect them and binge-watch old films), but it also happens that pictures from the distant past appear.
This happened with the low-budget comedy Cannon-style action movie "Ninja Fighters" (Ninja busters), which was considered lost for more than two decades. A film with the film was found several years ago, and already this year “Fighters” will be shown as part of special screenings in various US cinemas and will be released on Blu-Ray.
The film "Ninja Fighters" was filmed in 1984 by director Paul Kiryazi, which specialized in second-rate action films such as "Machines of Death" (1976) "Weapon of Death" (1981) "The Only Way Out" (1986) and "Slavers" (1990). However, the film's negatives and Panavision 35mm film were lost during transportation. In December 2012, collector Garry Guerro of Exhumed Films and Garage House Pictures, discovered the film of "The Fighters" in a so-called "storage room hellhole" in the Mojave Desert along with 200 other films, many of which had rusted right through their metal cans. But the film with Kiryazi's film miraculously survived; Guerro, along with 200 other prints, loaded it into a rented truck and traveled across America to New Jersey, surviving several giant ice storms along the way.
Thus, the parody trash action film reached the viewer. It was shown for the first time at a film festival Ex-Fest Marathon. The next screening of the film will be at the Great Star Theater in San Francisco. October 29 2016 year.
The event will be attended by a very aged director and actors who once starred in “Ninja Fighters”: Eric Lee ("Big Trouble in Little China") Gerald Okamura (“Showdown in Little Tokyo”) and Carlos Navarro (“Weapons of Death”). Unfortunately, the one who played the main role did not live to see this event. Sid Campbell ("Master Demon"), died in 2008.
Well, those interested in trash films of the 80s can only wait for the film’s release on media and watch the trailer.
for its time it would have been a masterpiece. and yes, editing at this time gave the film its advantages, it seems.
TIMMONS,
Hardly a masterpiece. Still, it is clear that this is a purely exploitation film of that time, like the films of Godfrey Ho or Menaghen Golan.
DIV,
Yes, I'm not serious.
You can see from the trailer that it's a hack job.
We'll definitely take a look!
young Eric Lee and even in one of the main roles, already interesting
