Let us remind you that in it, in addition to JCVD and his son, it stars Daniel Bernhadt, with whom the JCVD is planning an on-screen fight, Peter Stormare и Maria Conchita Alonso.

In my opinion, Van Damme somehow doesn’t look good in such roles anymore. It's the same thing in the new movie with Dolph. Bernhard is a different matter, but Vanya needs to, I don’t know, sit on the sofa, read the newspaper, drink whiskey (these are the types of roles I would look at for him))).

The trailer is made with an 80s twist - it's funny. The rest is somehow unclear. They showed too little. And yes, I would like to hope that Bernhard will turn out to be at least a sub-boss and the battle with him will be long. God bless them with the understudies, at least the choreography was built more or less normally.

Didn't the trailer remind anyone of the events of "Game of Death" 2010 with Snipes? Is everyone in the hospital and Barnhardt together with Daniels?

Every B action movie needs to feature scantily clad girls.

      Anton Clemens,
Alas, if a film is rated R, then even if it is category A, B or C, there will usually be a half-naked girl in it.

        Ravenside,

I would say on the contrary, now in most films rated R, you can’t find naked girls day by day. :(

Well done Van Damme, it’s clear that he doesn’t act in outright hack work, his new films, although second-class, have a level below which Van Damme won’t let go, and for that he deserves praise.

      Dave,
The funny thing is that in his younger years, his films were mostly B-grade, then we simply didn’t notice it, and the films simply turned out good. All other things being equal, then Stallone or Schwartz had much better budgets and production.

        Ravenside,

Class B in the 80s/early 90s and Class B now are still very different things. For Van Damme, even his cheapest films were widely released in the United States and paid for themselves in a matter of weeks. And if we take his films of the early 90s, such as Double Impact, Hard Target, Universal Soldier, Time Patrol - I would already call them category A films, because... both the budget and the production already met all the requirements (to the top films of Sly and Schwartz as to the Moon, but this is about the same as comparing John Wick 2 and Fast and Furious 8)

          Celpaso,
Obviously I'm making allowances for time. And I'm not talking about film distribution. JCVD films have always been cheaper and less promoted than films by Arnold and Stallone. Stallone won an Oscar for Rocky 5 years before Bloodsport. ZhKVD appeared later than Sly and Arnold in the title role, he has a different hero, his films are more niche than theirs, he poorly developed his career in other genre directions. And at the moment when JCVD could hypothetically reach their level, his career slid down, he became irrelevant, went out of fashion, became mothballed in this, and all sorts of excesses, as they say, were bad, ruined him. Another thing is that Time Patrol or Hard Target are much better than Commando or Destroyer.

            Ravenside,

I agree. 95-97 could have been his breakthrough years, but he blew it. :(

              Celpaso,

Let us remember Dacascos, by the way. His career began to decline during the same period, but the reasons were different. And those projects that took off in the late 90s and early 2000s were not American projects. "Drive", with a Chinese director, half-Japanese producers, a Japanese fight choreographer and an international cast, and the French "Brotherhood of the Wolf".

I completely agree, but do you think it will turn out to be a cool hand-to-hand action movie that will be interesting to watch? The trailer seems to be very good.

          Dave,

Although they are not asking me, I want to say this. I like the picture for the DTV project, but the trailer is absolutely terrible.

"They killed his father, they exposed him, now he has to...kill...them...all of them" Seriously? Nowadays, releasing a trailer with such pretentious and ironic text is bad manners, in my opinion.

The action scenes with Van Dammo were somehow uninteresting. One beautiful blow at the end, and that...performed by Emilien De Falco (Jean-Claude's stunt double).

About the actors: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Maria Conchita WHO??? We're going to watch an action movie, is it really impossible to mention Daniel Bernhadt and Christopher Van Damme (+ play up that the first was filmed in Blood Sports 2,3,4, and the second is Van Damme's son and will fight against his father).

The trailer is made in the style of "and so it will do"

Indeed, instead of mentioning Bernhard, we find out that the film starred Conchita Alonso, a half-forgotten actress of the 80s, why do action movie fans need her, like if she once starred with Arnold, that means she’s still a star????

Maria Conchita Alonso..It’s immediately obvious that you haven’t watched any films with Arnold...

              Denis Sokolov,

I watched all the films with him, and the fact that she starred in The Running Man and the second Predator... in my eyes, she did not become a more famous actress.

+ to be honest, as a young man, the name of a young lady who flashes among the bad guys...is much more interesting, but as an action movie fan, I am more interested in which of the actors will participate in the action scenes and what they are capable of.

And the participation of a girl who starred with Schwartz 30 years ago can neither scare me off nor interest me, it only raises the surprised question “who is this?”

            Celpaso,

You are asking too much from Malota and ZhKVD. I love them very much, but they are lost in time. They don't leave their comfort zone.

          Dave,

I wouldn't give him high marks in advance. If it comes out at the level of "Six Bullets" and better than "Pound of Flesh", then that's good.
One thing I can say, judging by the trailer, is that they made a very budget version of John Wick.
