According to the magazine "Impact Magazine" producer Albert Pyun started production of a film called “Cyborg: Rise of the Slingers” (Cyborg: Rise of the Slingers), a prequel (note: a remake was previously reported) to the 1989 action film "Cyborg" (Cyborg), in which he starred Jean-Claude Van Damme. According to the description it will be “a horror film with vampires in a post-apocalyptic steam cyberpunk style.”
Unfortunately, JCVD There won't be a prequel, however, the cast is very decent. Of the actors who starred in the original, only the actress will return Terry Batson (Terrie Batson).Also confirmed Sasha Mitchell (Sasha Mitchell) Michael Paré (Michael Pare) and Olivier Gruner (Olivier Gruner).
In the meantime Van Damme busy reshooting some scenes from his long-term construction project “Eagle Way” (The Eagle Path), which was recently renamed "Soldiers" (Soldiers). Let me remind you that 2 years ago at the Cannes film market the film caused a mixed reaction from critics. Many critics were dissatisfied with the pacing and plot elements. to be honest, Cyborg of 89 is one of the most unsuccessful works of JCVD - I can’t explain why, it’s just unsuccessful and that’s all... The right decision was that he decided not to take part in this project.
Jean slightly rushed things - add. Scenes won't start filming until around April. :)
