Three-time French kickboxing champion Olivier Gruner and actor Michael Paré in the 90s, they were united by medium- and low-budget action films, of which they were the stars at that time.

Now together they are the stars of a fantastic independent action film with a catchy title "Space Warriors: In Search of the Deep Star" (Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar) from the director Garo Setiana, known for low-budget cyberpunk action "RobaCop 2077" (2019)

The film follows a father-daughter team of space scavengers who must compete with a band of evil mercenaries to reach a legendary treasure aboard a lost, mythical freighter. Their quest will take them across a universe filled with giant monsters, aliens, robots and a mysterious enemy seeking revenge.

Besides Olivier Gruner (“Sawat”, “Mercenary 1-2”, “Kumite”) and Michael Paré (“Streets on Fire”, “Moon Policeman”, “Collectors 2”) took part in the film: Sarah French (“The girl in the picture”), Tyler Gallant ("Horror in a Cage") Rachel Brooke Smith (“Iron Man 2”) and other actors.

Digital release "Space Warriors" took place 2 May 2023 years.

We already somehow wrote about a curious comedy-hand-to-hand project from Brazil called "Masters of Smoke" - then the film showed a teaser and did not have an exact release date, but now the comedy is officially being released.

Let us remind you that the script and direction of the film belongs to the duo Andre Sigvaltu и Augusto Soares.

Synopsis: Go on a journey with Gabriel and Daniel - two brothers cursed by the Chinese mafia with the terrible revenge of three generations, which already claimed the lives of their grandfather and father. To survive, one brother must learn the secrets of the Smoke Style, a little-known and controversial martial art based on the use of cannabis and trained by a master high in the mountains of distant China.

The main roles are Daniel Rocha (TV series "Spectros"), Thiago Stechinni ("Skull: Mask"), Tony Lee ("Made in China"), Tristan Aronovich ("Skull: Mask"), Ravel Andradi (series “Where the Strong are Born”) and others.

"Masters of Smoke" has already been to film festivals, where it received positive reviews, and went into limited release in its homeland 18 May 2023 years.

Let's finish with the selection of another independent action comedy, this time from Spain. We are talking about a project called "Bullets and Katanas" (Bullets and Katanas).

The director and screenwriter of the film, as well as the director of fight choreography, was a martial artist, actor and stuntman Ignacio Serapio.

We were unable to find an official synopsis for the comedy, but we know for sure that the main character, a sensei named Marin, will go to rescue his own daughter from the clutches of the cartel, with the support of his friend Nacho.

He played the main role in the film himself. Ignacio Serapio (series “Red Eagle”, “Dream Without Fear”, “Land of Wolves”), and he is accompanied by: Roberto Garcia (series "Money Heist"), Rodrigo Poison (TV series "Isabella") Elizabeth Larena (TV series "Emperor Carlos") Emilio Linder (“Ghosts of Goya”) and others.

"Bullets and Katanas" went into limited release in their homeland 26 May 2023 years.
