Director Wong Tin-Lam dies

Sad news. Last night, November 16th, the veteran Hong Kong director and actor passed away at the age of 83. Wong Tin-Lam (Wong Tin-Lam). The cause of death was given as failure of vital organs due to a long illness.

Born in 1927 in Shanghai, Wong moved to Hong Kong in 1935. At the age of 22, he began making martial arts films, including TV series "Flying Swordsman" и “Fong Sai-yuk”.

In the 50s and 60s, he directed a whole line of films of various genres, from comedies, musicals and melodramas, thereby making a huge contribution to Chinese cinema. In the 70s he moved into the television industry.

Having finished directing work in the 90s, Вон focused on acting, starring in films Johnny To. Earlier this year he made a cameo appearance in Dennis Lau's film "Bad Blood" (Bad Blood/Feud).

Wong also regularly appeared in the films of his son, Hong Kong director and producer Won Jina (Wong Jing), who spoke about the death of his father in a statement to the media.
