"Made in Chinatown" by Samuels and Camacho, the return of "Brusplotation" and the sports drama of Alexander Nevsky

Member of the Hong Kong Stuntmen's Association and director Robert Samuels (“To hell with you!”, “Red Wolf”) together with the famous action director and director Artom Camacho (“Neither Alive nor Dead 2”, “Chemist”) are preparing a project called "Made in Chinatown" (Made in Chinatown).

The film is being produced by Samuels Independent Film Studio. R4 Films LLC, as well as companies Tambuli Media.

Film based on script Mark W. Wiley is an action-comedy and will tell the story of a young guy named Vinny, who is Chinese by blood, but he is forced to reject his own culture and traditions in order to break into the highest circles of the Italian mafia in New York. It just so happened that this was his dream.

In addition to the names of directors well known to fans of action films, the film also included several familiar names in the acting ensemble. However, the main role belongs to the debutant - stuntman Jay Kwon ("Zoozombie"). The rest of the cast is filled out by the following actors: Tony Darrow (TV series "The Sopranos"), Vincent Pastore ("Carlito's Way") Tony Ray Rossi ("Donnie Brasco") Raymond J. Barry (“Hammer”), as well as legends of Chinese combat cinema Lo Meng (“Ip Man 2-3”, “Hard Boiled”) and Chiu Chi-Ling ("Showdown in the style of Kung Fu"). The names of stuntmen flash in the background Peter Ngai и Stephen Chan (“The Elusive”) and a Puerto Rican action film actor Jose Manuel ("Witness").

"Made in Chinatown" has already been sent to post-production. However, we are somewhat worried that we will not see the film anytime soon. The point is that projects R4 Films LLC somehow slowly reach the mass audience. And if Samuels' 2016 short film "The Parker Chronicles" can be watched on the streaming channel Amazon, then the release of his own film "June" never announced. But a poster for the future comedy appeared online.

As we assure ourselves year after year, in the name of the legendary Bruce Lee you can earn a lot more money. Only a year has passed since the premiere of the Hollywood film "Bruce Lee: Birth of the Dragon" starring Philip Ng, and a series has already been announced "Warrior" based on materials from Bruce and another biopic called "Little Dragon". Well, that's not all. Ahead of us awaits a film from the seemingly long-lost subgenre of Chinese cinema, “Brusplotation.” The painting was named "He is back" (He's back).

The main role in the film will be played by Abb Lee, who is also called the “Afghan Bruce Lee”, and the film will be directed by the screenwriter Chita Yainesh Shetty ("Krishna", "Sainik"). Companies are responsible for production Showtime Sinema & SBM Pvt Ltd in collaboration with Ninjoor Pictures. Producing the project Suresh Sharma и Suresh Babu Malge.

The film will tell the story of a poor boy from Afghanistan who, in order to help his village, is forced to go to work in the United States. However, the guy will face real evil, which threatens not only his small homeland, but the whole world.

Filming is about to start January 28 2019 years and they will take place in Kosovo, Cambodia, Thailand, Russia and the USA.

Besides Abb Lee, the cast includes an actress Alina Lliumzhinova. Perhaps familiar names will be added to the cast, since not only American and Russian, but also Chinese production centers allocated money for the project.

The film is scheduled to premiere at the end of 2019. In the meantime, there is a press release for the upcoming hand-to-hand action movie.

"Made in Chinatown" by Samuels and Camacho, the return of "Brusplotation" and the sports drama of Alexander Nevsky

Impenetrable (in different senses) domestic filmmaker Alexander Nevsky (“Showdown in Manila”) recently presented his new project - a sports drama "Wild League".

In an interview with the publication The Action Elite, Nevsky said that the director of the fight scenes is responsible for directing the film Art Camacho and director Andrey Bogatyrev ("Judas"). By the way, the participation of Nevsky himself in the film is not entirely clear. His name does not appear in connection with this project in official sources. Perhaps Alexander “attached himself” to the camp of the film’s producers. In any case, he is not to be seen in the drama cast.

The film, which turns out to be based on real events of the beginning of the last century, will tell the story of a poor Russian migrant from the middle Volga, Varlam, who is forced to return to Moscow to be with his beloved. Being a master of fist fighting, Varlam is noticed by the English owner of a football club. But the guy is not accepted into the aristocratic team of players. But Varlam, together with the merchant Balashov, who is passionate about football, assembles his own football team to challenge the system.

In his Instagram, Nevsky noted that in one of the mass scenes of a fist fight, an athlete was injured Vladimir Figurovsky. In addition, Nevsky shared a joint photo with Camacho.

The main roles in the film went to Russian actors: Vladimir Yaglych (“Night shift”, “We are from the future”), Ivan Okhlobystin (TV series "Interns"), Dmitry Nazarov (The Show "Kitchen"), Adeline Golubenko-Gizatulina ("I see the goal"), Evgeniy Koryakovsky (series "Yesenin") and others. In addition to the Russian cast, Hollywood actors are involved in the film Adrian Paul (TV series "Highlander") and William Shockley ("RoboCop").

When the film will be released is unknown. It is also unknown what happened to Nevsky’s other announced project - Savage Attack.

“The picture was called “He’s Back” ...” this is the Afghan Viktor Tsoi, not Bruce Lee.
