British independent action cinema sometimes tries to catch up with similar projects from the USA, Canada, China and Japan, and some of the projects are quite interesting. Like the recently released "Kamikaze", or expected by us "The Real Goal" и "Rage in London". Now the shelf of indie projects from the UK has arrived.

It's an independent action film by a stuntman and a first-time director. David Newton called "Amber" (Amber). The main role in the film was played by a stuntman Jack Zagodka, whose track record includes many high-profile blockbusters, including "007: Spectrum" (2015) “Rogue One. Star Wars Tales" (2016) "Wonder Woman" (2017) and others.

There is no detailed synopsis yet, but the story in the film will revolve around a former hitman who returns to London to save his daughter.

In addition to Zhagodka, the following took part in the project: Kevin Mangar ("Zombie Apocalypse") Beau Fowler ("Retribution"), Katrina Durden ("Doctor Strange") Jean-Paul Ly ("Jail break"), Marcus Shakheff (“Kamikaze”) and Connie Jenkins-Greig (TV series “Fresh Blood”).

The following trailer is from a project helmed by the first African-American member of the Hong Kong Stuntmen's Association Robert Samuels (“To hell with it!”, “Red Wolf”, “7 Mummies”), which last year featured a hand-to-hand short film "The Beast: The Parker Chronicles".

We're talking about a thriller called "June" (Jun), which was produced by an independent film company R4 Films LLC The trailer premiered in mid-September at the independent film festival Newark International Film Festival.

The official synopsis is already out: The story will focus on a girl named June, who is an artificially created human with enormous mental and physical abilities. June assembles a team of assassins to destroy the organization that created her.

The main role on the screen was played by a debutante Shiny, and the following actors made up her company: Tenis Divya Johnson (TV series "Gotham" and "Blue Bloods") David Chen (TV series "Gotham" and "Luke Cage") John DeBlasio (TV series “The Sopranos” and “Blue Bloods”), Cage Yami (Ghost Source Zero) and others.

The premiere of the film by Samuels, who also played one of the roles in his film, will take place at the exhibition Urban Action Show Expo sometime in November of this year. But release information "June" not available on media or online services yet. But there is a trailer.

We would like to finish the selection with a project from the Philippines called "Combat readiness" (Born Ready).

For Filipinos, this film is interesting because the main role in it is played by a well-known personality in this country - Yasmin Isabel Jasto-Pressman (“Girl for Rent”, “Camp Savi”) or simply Yassi Pressman. In addition to being an actress, Jassy is also a Filipino-British model, television host, singer and dancer. The director of the film is a certain Lach Balao.

There is no official synopsis for the future film yet, but the genre of “Combat Ready” will be an action-drama, in which the main emphasis is on the national martial arts of the Philippines: kali, eskrima and arnis.

Was involved in fight choreography Erwin Tagle, who has been working in the industry for a long time, but may be known to visitors to our site for staging hand-to-hand action in the film "The Undefeated Manny Pacquiao" (2015). It was Erwin who was engaged in serious combat training for Yassi Pressman.

Also took part in the film Vincent Soberano ("Police Story 2013"), Ian Ignazio ("New Blood") Jerome Calicia (TV series “Explosive Body”) and others.

The film “Combat Readiness” should appear in 2018. And despite the fact that the film does not even have an official poster yet, a trailer for the future dramatic action film about martial arts of the Philippines has appeared online.

It’s Anton’s fault, he wasn’t attentive, these are full-length films, believe me, I feel that this more or less normal one, as you said, you will turn out to be the crap one, and I think that even though Reeves is wooden, he is still familiar with martial arts, unlike that model, and fights in really can.

All three short films are complete garbage, this can be seen from the trailers, especially the second one is pure trash, and as for the third one, why do they make the models supposedly masters of martial arts, let them continue to demonstrate their tits and pussies as much as they want, but they won’t knock out healthy men on the screen, it looks unconvincing and extremely stupid.

      So these are full-length films.

Dave: especially the second pure thrash

Well, at least the fights are staged more or less normally and without shitty editing.

Dave: And about the third, why do they make supposedly martial arts masters out of models? Let them continue to demonstrate their tits and pussies as much as they want, but they won’t knock out healthy men on the screen, it looks unconvincing and extremely stupid.

This is the first time I’ve seen a Filipino hand-to-hand action film, they’re more like soap operas, and they managed to screw it up, and I don’t mean her complete inability to fight, at least she’s not wooden like Reeves and knows how to lift her leg, but the jerky camera and the constant change of plans are killing everything .
