My Kingdom (Da Wu Sheng) director jailed

Chinese director Gao Xiao Song was sentenced to six months in prison by a Beijing court on Tuesday.

Gao, who is not only a director, but a popular lyricist and reality show judge “China is looking for talent”, pleaded guilty to reckless driving causing a four-vehicle crash on May 4th that injured two people. Blood tests showed that the level of alcohol in his blood was almost 9 times the legal limit. The sentence took effect immediately after the court's decision. In addition, Gao his driver's license was suspended for 5 years and he will have to pay a fine of 4000 yuan (~$615).

He became the first driver to receive the maximum penalty for violating the new drunk driving law, which came into force on May 1, 2011. It becomes clear why the authorities were so interested in using the director’s “star” status to discourage others from driving drunk.

His imprisonment means that Gao will not be able to take part in the final of the talent show, which will soon begin filming and air in July. But how the incident may affect the August release "My Kingdom", not yet known.

Producers are currently deciding whether to delay the release until later. Gao will not serve his sentence (besides, it is unknown whether he will be able to participate in promotions), or go ahead with everything according to schedule and release the film in August, without relying on his participation in the creation of the film.

But he is still a director. Most likely the release will be postponed.

He, the fool, was lucky that no one died. )

In his case, no one died, he was simply the cause of the accident. The death penalty is isolated cases, much depends on the circumstances of the crime.

No, there really is a death penalty. Only on the condition that people died in the accident.

The execution didn’t seem to have happened before. :)

It’s just that from May 1 this is regarded not as an administrative, but as a criminal offense. The laws have become stricter. If you get tipsy - 6 months without a license and a fine, if you get caught the second time - 10 days of arrest, temporary deprivation of your license and a fine. If you are “ready” to drive - 5 years without a license, criminal liability and a fine.

He got off easy, because according to the new law, for an accident while drunk, they can not only be imprisoned for a certain period of time, but also deprived of their rights FOREVER (if their driving behavior is regarded as criminal).

Have you heard about this? Well, you can't get so drunk! He's lucky that he doesn't live in China. There for such a thing - execution.
