Review of the independent action movie “Flashdrive”

Franklin Correa, independent film director "The Prey" returns with a new indie action movie "Flash drive", where there were a number of realistic fights.

Local journalist Ashley Romano (Janet Miranda) seeks to discover the truth behind an urban legend. "Escobar's Commoners" this is a list of people who worked for a criminal drug lord Pablo Escobar during his reign. All data about them, as well as details of two bank accounts in Panama totaling $50 million, are stored on a flash drive.

When the informant Ashley gives her the flash drive, the journalist becomes the target of a local crime boss Antonio (Emilio Pantero), who catches the informant and kills him. Not knowing who to trust, she turns to her boyfriend, a martial arts instructor. Johnny Franco (Franklin Correa). Despite everything, Antonio kills with his gang Ashleyand Johnny, to whom she handed the flash drive before her death, begins her search for answers.

Given the 62-minute running time, the director Franklin Correa combines a coherent plot and realism well. Although he is absent from the frame for the first 15 minutes of the film, the secondary characters are adequately developed by him. Janet Miranda coped well with the role of a journalist Ashley, a desperate woman who, sadly, is subsequently killed. Emilio Pantero as a villain Antonio also good. I should mention that he conducted one of the funniest interrogations I've ever seen on screen: he picked up a baseball bat and just when he thought he was about to kill his opponent, he started dancing when he heard music on the radio.

Correa not only starred in the title role, but also developed the choreography. However, he makes it clear that you shouldn't expect anything particularly colorful, and that's okay. Having a black belt and 3rd dan in ninjutsu, Correa uses a more realistic fighting style as he fights opponents both for the flash drive and for revenge for the murder of his girlfriend.

In short, "Flash drive" is a short but sweet action/thriller in which Franklin Correa and his team approached the budget and action scenes wisely. Worth watching.

Well, what is there to say about Defender 2...it’s almost 2013 and there’s no trailer or anything, no info...it’s supposed to come out in 2012???

Yes, it seems like the premiere was postponed to May 2013.
