Martial artist, stuntman and actor Darren Shahlavi has passed away

This morning news emerged of the death of a 42-year-old English actor, stuntman and film actor. Darren Shahlavi. The sad news was confirmed by his brother on Facebook. Bobby Shahlavi, who wrote that Darren "died peacefully in his sleep" и “The exact cause of death will be announced later”.

Shahlavi was born on August 5, 2972 and began practicing judo at the age of 7. After getting acquainted with the films of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, Darren was inspired by the idea of becoming an action movie star, so he expanded the list of martial arts he studied: Shotokan karate, boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai. To be closer to the heart of action cinema, the Englishman moved to Hong Kong in the late 80s and acted as an extra in various projects, and already in the mid-90s he was noticed by a cult director and choreographer Yuen Woo-Ping - Shahlavi played the main negative role in the film "Taichi Master 2" (1996). Since then, Darren has been working not only in China, but also in the West and Europe, where he is mainly involved in stunt work and fighting scenes.

Darren Shahlavi always wanted to become a movie star and he managed to realize his cherished dream: throughout his career, he fought on screen with Jackie Wu ("Tai Chi Master 2"), Gary Daniels ("Blood Moon") Michael Jai White (Mortal Kombat: Legacy"), Scott Adkins ("War Chronicle"), Sammo Hoon и Donnie Yen ("Ip Man 2"), Steve Austin ("Package"), Steven Seagal ("Born to win"), Mark Dacascos ("Alien Agent") Dave Bautista ("Kickboxer: Retribution"), Jean-Claude Van Damme ("Pound of Flesh") Marko Zaror (Zambo Dende) and many others...

Rest in peace Darren...

By the way, he was made very well for Alan (hairstyle, hair color, and chins are somewhat similar). The trouble is that, apparently, Darren did not star in all his scenes. So you will have to either rewrite the script, or complete the scenes with a double, or reshoot all the scenes with a new actor.

It turns out that Darren first met Donnie when he was 15 years old. Quite a rare photo.

and that's it... took a life. And it’s neither his fault nor anyone’s... The most offensive thing is

An excellent villain in films and (judging by photos/videos/interviews) a very good person in everyday life. It is very sad when such people leave so unexpectedly.

Rest in Peace, Darren! Strength and health to his loved ones!

Rest in peace Darren... Very, very sorry. 42 years... I can't believe it. The news is simply terrible. But he accomplished a lot in his life. I will always remember him.

He once talked about why he is so good at villains. It turns out that at the age of 20 he worked in a bar as a bouncer, and during the course of his work he often had to pretend to be a typical “bull”...

But if you think about it, Darren left beautifully, as he deserved) He started with THREE films with the great and terrible Uwe Boll, and ended up in the Hollywood Kickboxer on the wide screen, together with his childhood idol Van Damme and such star fighters as Batista and Carano

    rest in peace...

One of the best, one of the brightest, one of my favorites.... You can list the advantages endlessly... there is not enough time and words. Lately, many talented people, public people, famous people have left... life is like this, people live and die, the wheel turns, over time we get used to it and move on.
But... now I'm shocked. Either it has accumulated. Or... I don't know.
    R.I.P.
