The premiere of a short Chinese film about martial arts called "Guardians of Martial Arts". Of course, we cannot help but share this short film with visitors to our site.
It's no joke, there are so many famous names in the frame of an ordinary short film, which, of course, is not entirely ordinary. "Guardians of Martial Arts" or simply GSD is project Chinese billionaire Jack Ma, who brought the iconic action movie actor to the film Jet Li. He became one of the film's producers.
The plot of the film is as simple as possible: an inconspicuous man challenges different opponents in turn, representing different styles.
The main role in the film was played by Ma himself, who in 20 minutes had clashes with such action film actors as: Tony JAA (Ong Bak trilogy), Jet Li ("Kiss of the Dragon") Donnie Yen (Ip Man trilogy), Jackie Wu Jing (duology "War of the Wolves"), Jackie Hyun ("League of Gods"), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny”), as well as athletes Zu Shimin и Asashoryu Akinori.
Such mastodons of the genre as Sammo Hungg ("Winners and Sinners"), Yuen Wu Ping ("Drunk master"), Tony Chin ("Shaolin Football") and Guk Hin-Chiu ("Wukong"). The film was directed by Wen Zhang ("When Larry Met Mary").
GSD is primarily a film promoting tai chi as a culture of health. Therefore, all the actors who starred in the film worked with pure enthusiasm.
In any case, the film is valuable at least because Jet Li played an action role in it. In Lee's previous film "League of Gods", Jet played the Chinese version of Gandalf without any hint of hand-to-hand combat.
The following short film is a fan project based on superhero comics DC Comix, namely about the adventures of the hero nicknamed "Black Lightning".
The film is called "Black Lightning: Tobias' Revenge" (Black Lightning: Tobias's Revenge) and will tell the story of criminal mastermind Tobias Whale, who returned to the slums of Metropolis in order to take revenge on the superhero Black Lightning. Tobias gathers members of various gangs, as well as other villains, under his leadership in order to kidnap the mayor of Metropolis. This crime should lure Black Lightning out of hiding and into a trap.
The short film was directed by an actor and Krav Maga instructor. Choice Skinner (TV series "Shield", "Wingman Corporation"), who also played the main role of Black Lightning. The rest of the cast includes: Dimitri Morantus ("The House of Lies"), Jay Hungter (TV series "Nikita"), Sachiko Ishida (“Promising does not mean marrying”), James Moten-Black and others.

I read on the Internet that Jack Ma is seriously involved in tai chi, but all his quick victories look unconvincing...
It would be better if they did the following plot: Jack Ma, as a hospitable host, invites the actors to the gym, where they will remember their youth, showing footage of their old films, to the appropriate music, following the example of “the grass was greener before,” etc. Then friendly sparring among themselves, like Wong Fei Hungg met with Ip Man or Drunken Tai Chi)))
And so it turned out to be a weak craft, which, I think, will be quickly forgotten. But the tape had potential...
