Short films The Man From Somewhere, VINDICTA, Dancing With The Scars, Fatal Blade, Dance of the Drunken Gods and Enter The Vlad

Frankly, it’s been a long time since we’ve had a selection of short films on our website from various stunt teams or simply from creative associations. Well, it's time to correct this misunderstanding.

The Man From Somewhere

The first film is the brainchild of a stunt studio Roark Stunts - Joseph Roark (“Demoness”) called The Man From Somewhere. At the director's helm is Dominic Smith, and Roark himself plays the main negative role here.

The film, whose main theme is revenge, also stars Thomas Culler, Greg Poliaczyk (TV series "Chicago PD") Danya Bateman (TV series "Mercenary Quarry") and Tony Waugh ("Kickboxer: Retribution").

vindication

The next short film is again about revenge. Film from the studio Ronin Visual bears the name vindication and it was directed by a tandem of two independent filmmakers Stephen Chan и Hayden Lam.

The main feature of the film is the shooting style: almost the entire short film was shot with the effect of one take, which we talked a lot about in our video material. In addition, the style of local action is reminiscent of films such as "Explosive Blonde", duology "John Wick" and last year's short film "John Wick Origins: Kirill".

В vindication played the main role Sunny Tellone (“Kill or Die”), and accompanied her Ryan Condo, Colton Wheeler (TV series "The Mindy Project") Paris Bravo (TV series "Henry Danger") and others.

We offer a very interesting short film for viewing.

Dancing With The Scars

The next project is more of a small sketch than a full-fledged short film. Movie Dancing With The Scars belongs to the director and stuntman Shahaubu Rudbari, which may be known to visitors to our site for its dark short film "When kids grow up" 2016 year.

In this sketch, Shahaub took on not only directorial obligations, but also played one of the roles. The on-screen duet was composed for him Selkie Home (TV series "Lucifer")

We invite you to watch this film about passion, dancing and blood...

Fatal Blade

A short film called Fatal Blades from the studio Golden Horde is positioned as the first episode of a web series, although it is quite a complete work.

In this film, a brave guy goes to the rescue of his beloved, who has been kidnapped by bad guys.

There is a stuntman and actor in the director's chair Temujin Shirzada, who co-starred in the independent Filipino action film "Blood Warriors: Rise of the Hybrids" Vincent Soberano. Temujin also played one of the leading roles in the short film. The rest of the cast includes: Lendro Mayor Martinez ("Golden Work") Simon Siyamba, Tatiana Tatar and others.

While there is no news about the second episode, watch the first one.

Dance of the Drunken Gods

Another dose of nostalgia from the stunt team MartialClub under the leadership (I would like to believe) of the future star of the genre Andy Le.

This time in a short film called "Dance of the Drunken Gods" (Dance of the Drunken Gods) the guys tried to make fun of and pay tribute to the classic Chinese kungfu films of the late 70s, and, specifically, "To the Drunken Master" Yuen Woo-Ping.

We fought ourselves in battle Andy Le и Brian Le, who is also an integral part of the team MartialClub.

Watch and feel nostalgic. Watch to the end, because, traditionally, unsuccessful takes are shown in the credits.

Enter The Vlad

An excellent director of hand-to-hand action does not lag behind his colleagues. Vlad Rimburg with his team, who have become seriously active lately.

In the work entitled Enter the Vlad, Rimburg and his comrades draw a kind of line under all their creativity in the field of short films. This film tells the story of the future member of the stunt association Jackie Chan - Andy Long, who arrived in the United States back in 2010 to make independent action films. That's when he met Vlad. This film is the result of collaboration between two talents from production and performance. The film has been waiting for release for 8 years and has finally appeared online.

It is not surprising that the film is filled with a cast of names familiar to us from independent action films: Vlad Rimburg, Ed Kahana, Ray Carbonell, Ken Quitugua, Dennis Ruel, Brandon Huor, Donald Mills, Troy Carbonel, Seth AustinNikita Lorenz.

Just so you understand: this is almost the entire cast "Unlucky Stars" ... So – watch!

“The Man From Somewhere” is banal and boring.

“VINDICTA” - there are contradictions against common sense, but there is a plus for the camera work.

“Dancing With The Scars” gets a thumbs up for originality. Otherwise I’m tired of this “revenge”.

    "Fatal Blade" is very weak.

“Dance of the Drunken Gods” - these ones - can. Even as a non-fan of this opera-kungfus style, I watched it with pleasure.

“Enter The Vlad” is not a short film, but a showreel. But they can.

I didn't want to review any of it.
