Escape
When we started collecting applicants in various categories within summing up the results of action cinema 2019, one of the visitors proposed a sketch from the director in the category “best short film” Phillipa Cyprian Florin called "The escape" (Escape). And we realized that we shouldn’t have paid attention to this project. Let's fix it.
The film tells the story of how a hostage of a criminal gang tries to free himself from captivity and, to do this, risks his own life and uses hand-to-hand combat skills.
The short film featured: Nathan Barris, Phillip Cyprian Florian, Grant Powell, Brownin October and others.
Heart System
We also cannot ignore the new film by one of the most notable directors of independent combat cinema - Brian Sloyer.
The short film is called Heart System and this time Layer explores the theme of cybernitization of the human body and human memory. The film, as always with Brian, turned out to be sad and difficult.
The film stars some familiar names from the world of independent action cinema: Yoshi Sudarso ("Cowboys"), Jay Kwon ("Made in Chinatown"), Caitlin Houston ("Solar"), Akihiro Haga ("Killer Karate"), Vlad Rimburg ("Unlucky Stars") and Shai DeBro ("Lioness").
Dark Jedi: A Star Wars Story
Fan film based on the universe "Star Wars" released by German martial arts practitioner, stuntman and action director Lorenz Hideyoshi. It’s interesting that Lorenz invited a stunt girl who took part in the film to play the main role. "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker", which recently hit the big screens.
We're talking about a stuntman and an actress Marie Murum (“Game for Immigrants”, “Black Panther”), who fought in a beautiful duel with the actor Amadeus Weiland (series "Lasko - the fist of God").
The Fighter
A creative association from Italy also featured a short film Victory Magic Films.
Director Fabrizio Martin made a film with a simple title "Fighter" about a failed restaurant robbery - tough and serious.

At the same time, we will collect short videos of well-known stuntmen among independent combat film directors Jay Kwon и Jerry Quilla under the general heading "Fight or Flight".
In a series of three (so far) videos, relationships are sorted out by several couples, between whom a life-or-death battle ensues.
The first short film features Kiera O'Connor, Sina McKenna, Caitlin Houston и Mark Poletti.
Well, in the current latest film in the series, the battle broke out between Jay Kwon и Di. Wow. Sao.
The Mission
The next film is presented by a stuntman and director Branden Arnold, who managed to work in many Hollywood projects.
His short film tells the story of how a hitman breaks into the home of a young man and his girlfriend, determined to kill the guy who was posing as a criminal as an undercover cop.
The main roles in the film were performed by: Troy Butler, Bridgette Bentley and himself Branden Arnold.
Aladdin Meets Parkour in Real Life
An extremely interesting project was recently presented from Uzbekistan. The local Ministry of Tourism ordered a tourist video in the form of a parkour chase through the area of the fictional city of Agrabah from a fairy tale. "Aladdin".
Team Devin Super Tramp made a truly beautiful short chase film, with Kalen Chan (TV series "Body Snatchers") in the title role. Other roles: Muhammad Safarov, Damir Sharipov, Shakhzoda Kudirova and others.
The Knight of Hope
Let's finish today's selection with a Czech short fantasy film "Knight of Hope" behind directing Lukas Kratochvil и Martina Kureseka.
