Theo Chalmers photoshoot with John Foo and Dean Alexandrou

It turns out that a dynamic battle can be conveyed not only with the help of video, but also with the help of photography, especially if a professional like Theo Chalmers (Theo Chalmers).

On his official website we managed to find a stylish photo shoot called "1865 Fight Scene", in the filming of which the fighter took part John Fu (Jon Foo) and dancer Kieren Edmonds (Kieran Edmonds).

And not so long ago Theo Chalmers shot another on-screen fighter Dina Alexandrou (Dean Alexandrou). There are no photos in the public domain yet, but there is a video of a photo shoot called "Kicking The Moon".

Damn, now I want to watch this fight, I thought, what if they release the “full version” of TYUG before the release of the second part, that would be great

I read the interview, thank you... it seems to be recent, right?
I didn’t think he learned acrobatics from Ray Park...

Now I understand why he never responded to my letter about the release of Shanty Town Show Down.

As far as I understand, we have no chance of seeing this film, right?)

Speaking of which, beating two boys is not heroic, but beating one John (then the same boy) is a completely different matter, right?)))

    That's for sure!!

    :(
I didn't finish it all the way :)

Thank you. Been there. Great interview :)

Yes, big, and in big bold letters written about copyright))) The answers are so-so, he often goes off topic, a natural State Duma deputy. Now I understand why he never responded to my letter about the release of Shanty Town Show Down.

Or maybe they cut it out because some body was caught in the footage near the window with a flashlight in his left hand (see photo with water above) =)

Yes, sure, it’s all because of him))

By the way, I always thought that Dean was taller, I read somewhere that he is 178, and Tony Jaaa is 168, but in the photo the difference is small... or maybe this is the angle, and it seems to me?...

Dean has very wide legs, which is why he is shorter.

Can I have a link to the site and the interview?

Of course you can. You've been there more than once. Tyts

That's exactly what I noticed. Can I have a link to the site and the interview?

PS I almost forgot, he thinks Ong-Bak 2 and 3 suck.

to be honest, I wasn’t delighted either, the second one was more or less so, but the third one, excuse me... Mura

But what is the price of quality tricks.

Damn, at first I thought it was makeup...
Thanks for the article, when I found out that both he and Dan participated in the film, I watched the film, looked for their faces))) now it’s clear why I couldn’t find it)))
By the way, on Dean’s official website there are several photos from the filming of TYUG. The photo shows him, Daniel O'Neill and Latif, and the other with John Foo. Speaking of which, beating two boys is not heroic, but beating one John (then the same boy) is a completely different matter, right?)))

Rave. They would not have been selected for these roles then. Thank you.
PS He probably thinks so because he didn’t film there :-D

I’m also interested, although there is an assumption, as with the opening scene in the film, that the behavior is too cruel for the main positive character.

But what is the price of quality tricks.

Nevermind. What movie is this from? It’s not like the case where Jaa gave him a knee, or an elbow (I don’t remember who had to do what), there is this scene in the making office.

Here's what Dean said in a recent interview:

Back then everyone knew about Ong-Bak. It was the first film to push boundaries in years, and it seemed to be inspiring, like 80s Jackie Chan action movies. Full of excitement and anticipation, I headed to the Muay Thai training center to begin developing a 2 on 1 fight against Tony Jaa (me and Daniel O'Neill vs. Jaa) in his new movie “Tom Yum Goong”. I was not sure what awaited me, since before this I had only auditioned for one Prachya Pinkayu.

We arrived early, but a smiling Tony Jaa and his coach were already waiting for us there, having warmed up and smiling. It all started with an absolutely incredible demonstration performance by Jaa (perhaps he just wanted to show us who's boss in case we started to show off somehow) - and we saw an impressive mixture of Muay Thai, Wushu and a number of incredible acrobatic stunts.

Speaking of incredible acrobatics, I mean a tucked back somersault, a rebound, a side somersault, a rebound, a forward somersault - one after another, and immediately a forward spin with a punch, and all this - on a hard floor.

We worked on a great little fight that had a lot of extreme kicks, trick falls and somersaults, then they filmed it and after a rough cut we were ready to film.

Filming began, and after several days of fighting in a water-filled, burning temple and our heads taking a hail of punches and knees, we were done and eagerly awaiting to see the finished product on screen.

It was only months after filming ended that Prachya told us that we had been cut - WHAT...??! Who knows why, but I suspect that it happened because of the two of us, we looked about 20 years old at most - and what kind of hero is he if he beats up two boys, right?

However, bits of the fight do appear in several trailers, and we can be seen mysteriously appearing on the floor of the temple right before Jaa's fight with Latif Crowder. :)

I don't know what movie the photo is from, but it's quite old.

    Interested! And how!)))

No, this is not a video (then there would be motion blur), the camera simply takes 12-14 pictures per second, and then the most successful frame is selected.

By the way, Dean recently worked in the film Iron Monk

But what is the price of quality tricks.

If you're interested, I can write why he thinks his fight with Tony Jaa was cut from Tom Yum Goong.

    nice photos, thank you)
I haven't heard anything from these guys for a long time, especially from Dean. Dean, by the way, in the photo he looks a bit like Rocky Balboa)))
and there is another question: how are such photographs taken? does the photographer catch them on the fly, or shoot them and then cut the frames from the video?

Awesome cool pictures! I want a photo shoot too!!!
