Most foreigners go to Vanuatu to relax and enjoy the island's beauty, but movie star Jackie Chan has his own plans.

Mr Chan arrived in Vanuatu on Wednesday and traveled to Tanna Island near Mount Yasur to film a scene from his new blockbuster.

Joe Yuku, filming coordinator, told Australian radio channel Pacific Beat that the Chinese movie star plans to stay in Vanuatu for some time.

“He will be thrown onto a plain of volcanic ash, and it will end up in the film.”

Mr. Yuku said that the film will be an adventure film.

“Maybe later today we’ll get some footage of the fireworks on the edge of the volcano.”

Mr. Yuku also admitted that Mr. Chan is just as funny behind the scenes as he is in his films.”

“All the gestures, jokes, smiles from his films, it’s all here, with him.
